Czech Army fireteam (or equivilent) structure?

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this is the right place to ask military questions, if not move this.

BIS is a Czech Company, so I'm hoping that some of the community will know the answer to these questions.

  1. What is the smallest unit in the Czech Army? (eg, in US army it is Fireteam)
  2. What is the composition of that unit? (eg, TL, AR, etc..)

Thanks in advance!

1. Our smallest unit is squad

2. I don't really know this but I think mechanized infantry and infantry have different composition.

I would be talking about general non-specialised infantry. Motorized or dismounted.

1. On average how many men does this squad consist of.

2. Do you know the composition for general rifle squads?

Contact CSLA team, i'm sure they know a bunch about this.

Okay I will try that, thanks.

I think its still the organization from Soviet times.

A platoon of 3 units.

First HQ unit 7 men:

Platoon leader

SAW

AK with GP

RPG7

Dragnov

AK

AK

2xSquad

Team leader

SAW

AK with GP

AK

RPG

RPG support

SAW

AK with GP

AK

I think there is a RPG team of two with RPG gunner and RPG ammo guy attached to HQ but they are a independent team.

BMP have a crew of two the squad leader is the CO of the BMP

Dismounted the BMP follows the Squad and supports with heavy weapons.

One noncommissioned officer´s for the whole platoon, rest is grunts.

-Paladin- Czech army never had an AK nor an AK with a grenade launcher. There was an experimental grenade launcher for the Vz.58 (wich is used quite a bit in the ÄŒSLA mod) but it was never adopted.

Heaney: If you have not already contacted the CSLA team, I can send you some basic manuals on the ACR in the pdf format.

So did the Czech Republic ever use rifle launched grenades? I recall Yugo Zastavas having rifle grenade launchers, but I'm fairly certain Vz.58 rifles don't.

True that. 40mm BGP.

Not sure for Czech Army as it is now, but I think they do not use Nato type military organization.

If it was as it were, then 60 - 120 men company, split into 2 platoons, then 4 squads, and every squad has 2 fire teams. Most of them are basic riflemans. Thats how I recall it. Maybe not exact Nato names for units though. Thats how basic infantry rolls that I know. AKs for everyone!

@ Paladin - where the hell did you get that info, from movies?

Edit: Or I am completely wrong about Nato style organization

OnlyRazor: The only rifle based grenade launcher I recall that was used by the czech army was the m203 mounted on M4 carbines (used by 601. skss) - I Saw some photos of Vz.58 with the M203 mounted on RIS, but I am not sure if it was official. Now with the adoption of the new BREN assault rifle there is a grenade launcher specialy developed for it.

BTW: there is the experimental grenade launcher:

CMSF, CMAF, Field manuals army for OpFor.

What you have shown is the organization chart for the whole CZ army not a platoon or a squad.

@ Derk Yall that looks more like a flare gun, but if you say its a UGL Ill trust you.

@ Paladin what the hell is OpFor field manual??? I know what that chart is, but its showing Nato symbols, so there is no need for me to dig to platoon level if I find Nato designations on higher levels.

Contacted them and got some details, but the PDF would be great too if you can send it!
