dmarkwick 261 Posted August 24, 2012 That's good news, for sure, but I always have a bad feeling when a problem fixes itself by unknown action. I know what you mean :) but I guess in this case - if it IS the case - the problem was caused by a patch and solved by another patch :)
Tankbuster 1746 Posted August 24, 2012 I know what you mean :) but I guess in this case - if it IS the case - the problem was caused by a patch and solved by another patch :) Ah right, gotcha. If it was broken by a patch and fixed by a subsequent one, I'd be a little happier. (O/T PS LOL at Icebreakr on Facebook; Ladies, if a man says he will fix it, he will. There is no need to remind him every 6 months about it)
bates 1 Posted August 24, 2012 Still crashing here. Haven't tried the absolute latest beta patch..I played for about 5-6 hours solid yesterday with no crashes whatsoever, and started to think they had magically disappeared. Unfortunately today I played for an hour and crashed. I'm yet to find out what is actually causing these crashes..video, sound, drivers, hardware..there's absolutely no indication and the crash log is EXTREMELY vague. It makes it really hard to diagnose. I checked over your dxdiag and it would seem that our systems have almost no similarities other than our processors being Intel and our GPUs being nVidia. Which doesn't narrow anything down because nobody else is getting this crash issue! :/ Seriously confuses me the more I think about it!!
bates 1 Posted August 26, 2012 Just a little update/bump. Game seems to crash more on the heavier missions. I tried playing Insurgency on my copy for a few days and experienced little to no crashes. I logged around 20 hours and only crashed once I think. Last night, I tried a much heavier mission using a lot more scripts, a lot more spawns, and vehicles. I crashed after about 20 minutes. Trying to get back onto the mission after that crash would result in an immediate crash. I tried 3 times to connect, the first two times my game would instantly crash upon successfully loading in. The third time, I did get in. It looks like I'm stuck with Insurgency for now as it's the only mission that I can actually play for a decent amount of time before my game dies. Oh, and I checked the .rpt..still the same error.
dmarkwick 261 Posted August 26, 2012 Did you try it with the latest beta?
bates 1 Posted August 26, 2012 Did you try it with the latest beta? Yeah, it had absolutely no effect :(
dmarkwick 261 Posted August 26, 2012 Hmm, well that's a shame. I guess you might be looking at external components like video drivers then?
bates 1 Posted August 26, 2012 It would seem so..the only problem being that I have absolutely nowhere to start from as the crash information isn't helping me at all.
kklownboy 43 Posted August 26, 2012 Your Sound card is?
bates 1 Posted August 26, 2012 My actual soundcard is an onboard Realtek, for playing ArmA 2 I use my headset which has its own USB sound card. It's the Steelseries 5H v2.
bates 1 Posted August 29, 2012 Not sure whether I should just ignore these crashes or not. Playing lighter missions, I hardly crash at all. Been playing Insurgency and had nearly no crashes, only one crash today and played pretty much all day. Seems to be heavier missions that crash it, I would like to get to the root of the problem in case others might be getting this though.
