No Entry Arma2OA.cfg.3D_Performance

Recommended Posts

When I try to open up ArmA 2 OA I get an error saying No Entry '*File_Path*/Arma2OA.cfg.3D_Performance'.

I do believe this happened after updating my graphic card drivers. Is this a file I could just grab from a friend or is it more complicated than that? The game still works so I could live without it but I would prefer not having the error.

Thanks,

Jakerod

I have had this. Updating to a new Driver AND installing the CCC of the AMD driver package fixed it. Tho i could run the game ok with out the CCC. It runs much better with the CCC. If your on Nvidia, reinstall. Over the top reinstall should be fine.

What is CCC? I have a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400 Series.

Catalyst Control Center.

Have you simply tried to delete the cfg files to let the game rewrite them ?

No, I have not tried that. I will now though.

Although i don't know why you're getting this error, let me decipher the error message, hoping it might help in one way or another.

*File_Path*/Arma2OA.cfg.3D_Performance

Generally points to the config file where game settings are stored like everything you can change in the video options. So when you change a setting ingame, this is the file where it is stored into.

Now the error says the file aswell as the config entry which seems to be missing in your case.

Arma2OA.cfg = the file

3D_Performance = config entry

Maybe a look at my arma2oa.cfg file is clearer:

language="German";
adapter=-1;
3D_Performance=-4194304;
Resolution_Bpp=32;
Resolution_W=1680;
Resolution_H=1050;
refresh=60;
winX=16;
winY=32;
winW=800;
winH=600;
winDefW=800;
winDefH=600;
Render_W=2520;
Render_H=1575;
FSAA=1;
postFX=0;
...
...

The file is a little longer but i think this snippet will do. Bolded the part that seems to be missing. Usually deleting the .cfg file should solve the problem as ArmA 2 will write a new one. You will have to redo all settings in the options menu after deleting the .cfg file but it is safe to do so.

Hope that brings you a step further.

I have been having a problem with Adobe Products causing a BSOD (which is why I did the new drivers) and so I did a System Restore to try to fix the BSOD issue and it ended up fixing the issue cfg issue. However, I will keep in mind these solutions in case something else causes the problem while I am trying to work out this BSOD issue or some other time in the future. Thank you guys for your help.
