kwalc 1 Posted June 4, 2012 Recently ARMA 2 started acting up with this graphical bug on start up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDBEW44zPX This starting happening recently and all of a sudden. I only run arma for DAYZ. I do not use sixupdater. Most recent beta patch is applied. Please note that this is NOT an installation error. ARMA 2 was installed correctly and so was dayz and have been running perfectly for the past 3 weeks or so. I have played arma before as I own this game for a while now but I have never had this bug before. Something must have changed a setting somewhere, but I do not know what as I havnt changed anything on my pc for the past 2 weeks or so. The only thing graphics wise I touched was some tweaks on ATI tray tools to increase performance on BF3 and to get a CPU monitor on my screen in-game. I have done this many times before with no issues. Another thing to note is that this kept happening even when I did a clean install of ARMA 2 & OA. So I suspected hardware issue, but I don't think that is possible because all other games run the same as before and tests I have ran show no issues on any hardware. I currently have it completely wiped from my system, every folder and setting is gone. However, I already did a clean install once and it did not solve the issue. This happens even with ARMA 2 installed by itself(without OA or DAYZ) Specs: Core i5-2500K 6950 2GB 8GB of ram(2x4) @ 1333mhz MOBO: P8P67 PRO (REV 3.1)

kwalc 1 Posted June 4, 2012 it dsnt work because the site restricts it for some reason. In any case, if you just go to my post here http://www.tacticalgamer.com/arma-sops-technical-support-faq/186361-arma-launch-mega-glitch.html#post1723072 That video is the same link and it works fine from that forum. Thank you for taking you time to help me.
[frl]myke 15 Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) Could you post your arma2oa.cfg file? :EDITH: Did you ever installed DirectX 9? Edited June 4, 2012 by [FRL]Myke

[frl]myke 15 Posted June 4, 2012 Aye, and while you're on it, a dxdiag.txt would be fine if it isn't asked too much. ;)
Gunter Severloh 4088 Posted June 4, 2012 Most recent beta patch is applied. Beta, remove the beta in your target line and then run the game with just the 1.60 official patch. Surely its graphics but betas are betas and not official patches for a reason, they are WIP, so just try without it and see if that helps anything. Was the game working normal before the beta patch or the game had the same problem before and after you applied the beta? Can you post your Target line,.. well if you post the RPT it will be in there so nvrmind.

The game was working perfectly before the beta. This is my target line: "D:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2OA.exe"

[frl]myke 15 Posted June 5, 2012 Hmmm...it's odd that in the cfg the 3D_Performance is a negative value. IIRC the I5-2500K has a integrated GPU and it might be that your PC uses this GPU instead of your ATI card. Not sure though as i'm not familiar with Intel CPU's at all. So far the only advice i can give, download and install DirectX9 and also make sure you use latest ATI drivers.

Don't worry about installing DirectX9, it wont touch any higher version, just add specific DX9 files. You might take it as different set of software rather than "just" another version. If possible, try to find out if the game is really rendered on your dedicated GPU and not on the IGP. Actually this would be my best bet so far. :EDITH: Probably a long shot but maybe updating your MB BIOS might solve the issue. no use for a name 0 Posted June 5, 2012 Also Resolution_x= doesn't match Render_x= The game might not be running at your monitors native resolution and so graphics look blurred/blocky. Try setting both settings to your monitors native res (probably 1920x1080). You can also delete the Arma2oa.cfg and when you start the game it will create a new one with defaults if you don't want to mess with it
[frl]myke 15 Posted June 6, 2012 @No use for a name this only means he have his 3D resolution lower than 100%. Although it would make the picture blurry, it wouldn't be as extreme as seen in his vid. But i agree, 3D resolution should at least be set to 100%. Also deleteing the arma2oa.cfg is a good idea.

[frl]myke 15 Posted June 7, 2012 I really dont want to update my bios for this. Is there a way to find out if its using the IGP instead of my GPU? I'm sorry, i'm not familiar with Intel CPU's nor with IGP's. I can only point to google to try your luck there, unless someone else shows up in this thread with a possible solution. Sorry, tried my best.
