Placebo 29 Posted June 18, 2002 To turn off the heavy breathing do not press the run key

mutantx 0 Posted June 18, 2002 well i dont play mp so i dont care about that i just want the sound GONE, its soo anoying thats all i hear..me and my squad breathing... couldnt i just find that wav file and replace it with a blank recording ?
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted June 18, 2002 Im sure you could, its just that its realistic- you cant sprint all over the map and expect your guys to not be out of breath. Maybe if you adjust your sound hardware settings it might minimize the volume of the breathing. But, as Placebo said, the easiest way to not have the heavy breathing is to not sprint as much
timmy 0 Posted June 18, 2002 yea you could probably replace it, i dont think itd be to hard to find the file
Mister Frag 0 Posted June 18, 2002 Actually, I'm beginning to think he has the EAX sound bug -- the breathing shouldn't be so loud that it becomes distracting. mutantx, can you also hear vehicles that are a long distance away, or footsteps of other soldiers? What OS and sound card do you have?
Placebo 29 Posted June 18, 2002 mutantx I've deleted your thread in troubleshooting, please don't spam questions over multiple forums

What OS and sound card do you have? <span id='postcolor'> I have all the same problems, Sometimes I can hear tank tracks that are so far away I can't tell where they are or even what direction that they are coming from. Sometimes I have gone as far as stopping my vehicle, getting out and listening to see if I can hear them, and somtimes I think that I'm hearing them but its so quiet that maybe my ears are just playing tricks on me. Mister Frag 0 Posted June 19, 2002 As a work-around, try turning off EAX and Hardware Acceleration -- that is the quick fix. Beyond that, you may have to switch to a different version of the sound card drivers. What OS and sound card do you have?
Placebo 29 Posted June 19, 2002 Also deleted your duplicate thread in mission editing, one thread for one question in the correct place please. If you're not sure what the correct place is post your question in general discussion and we'll move it to the correct place

Die Alive 0 Posted June 19, 2002 I remember reading in one thread a while back that someone, in the mission editor, got the guy running and huffing, then dialed their friend's house, and when the guy answered the phone, the guy playing OFP held his phone up the the speaker and the the friend heard that "heavy breathing" sound. LoL. I don't remember who it was, but yeah, that's pretty funny. -=Die Alive=-
eyes 0 Posted June 19, 2002 I get the eax sound bug (hear footsteps from miles off). It's not as bad since I got an audigy but it's still not great. I play with eax off (as i get a wierd sound when walking with it on - like i was a sled, a sliding noise) and hardware support on cos I want multi speaker support. Is there a fix other than turning h/w support off?
Placebo 29 Posted June 19, 2002 Since this now seems to have turned into the EAX bug I'll move it to TS
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted June 19, 2002 this bug allows guys in MP to track players miles off combined with the sniper scope she's pretty deadly combo, I found that Creative Cards make these louder, if I use say On Board sound then I cant hear as far as I would with a SB live if you use a spicific Speaker set up you'll even beable to pin point how far and in wich direction any one is

PopUpTarget 0 Posted June 20, 2002 You get that heavy breathing crawling fast too. I found that by temporarily going to the "External" view you don't have to listen to it. However there are risks to that as well...
