anno1505 1 Posted June 3, 2012 Hello, I've tried google for someone with a similar problem but i couldn't find anyone so here i am asking for help. I can play ArmA2:CO without any lag at all, but after playing awhile i get this lag that slows down the game ALOT. To get rid of it i have to restart the whole computer because exiting ArmA and restarting it again won't do it because it's still lagging. Any advice? oxmox 73 Posted June 3, 2012 * defrag your hard drives * look if everything is fine with your pagefile * make sure you have enough RAM for the game
anno1505 1 Posted June 3, 2012 I just got back from formating my hard drives the game is newly installed so i don't think that that it should be a problem? If not what should i look for and where can i find it? I have 8 GB of ram, should be enough or does it require more? Thanks for the advice!
oxmox 73 Posted June 3, 2012 I run with 4GB, so 8GB should be enough without the issues you expirience. Something else is a problem, but I cant help you here more. You can try to insert the following in your shortcut: -winxp Iam sure someone else has more ideas than me to fix your issue.

anno1505 1 Posted June 3, 2012 Do you also have to restart the computer for it to be A-okay again?
Horus 83 Posted June 3, 2012 Did you try to flush VRAM -> press left shift and hold it, then press the '-' (minus) key on the keypad and then type FLUSH (not case sensitive).
anno1505 1 Posted June 3, 2012 Nothing is happening when i'm pressing left shift plus the minus on the keypad :/ ---------- Post added at 23:26 ---------- Previous post was at 23:11 ---------- Okay it's working now a message popped up when i was ingame on ArmA. anno1505 1 Posted June 4, 2012 when you got lag, have you try to see in task manager how much did it took in CPU ? It takes about 10 to 15 of my cpu.
special_air_service 10 Posted June 4, 2012 It takes about 10 to 15 of my cpu. You mean 10% to 15% ? if yes that's weird, because most cases are when lagging means the CPU has worked 100% . Another case is because the CPU or GPU got overheated so it is affecting the performance therefore become heavily lagging , but in your case , you said that after playing a while so assuming your CPU and GPU are not used for a long time enough to make it overheat. ---------- Post added at 05:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:13 PM ---------- Have you get the latest patch available ? and if I may, please write your PC specs : CPU , GPU. Gunter Severloh 4054 Posted June 4, 2012 have you try to see in task manager how much did it took in CPU ?yes that's weird, because most cases are when lagging means the CPU has worked 100% I do this for my CPU as I have a single core, ya I know it sucks but sometimes it would eb 100%, most times its not. Question for the OP is do you have any programs, services, or things in the background running while playing? When was the last time you defragged your hard drive, and checked for registry errors? When was the last time you defragged your hard drive, and checked for registry errors? I have Steam,Skype and ArmA running because i tried to see if that would work, but it does not! :/ I recently reformatted my hard drives about 3-4 days ago. I'm quite bad at checking for errors and so on, don't really know what to look for! But no errors has occured if that's to any help!

Have you tried disable Hyperthreading ?

That's what i also thought :/ Actually no, do you have any idea on how to do that? :)
special_air_service 10 Posted June 5, 2012 That's what i also thought :/ Actually no, do you have any idea on how to do that? :) ah I forgot to tell you this : Disable V-synch into "off" in Nvidia Control Panel at your ArmA II.exe application (if ArmA II not in the list of applications, then manually add it ), it is worked and increase your fps for sure. As for disable Hyperthreading, I never do that before , not because it won't worked but because I have only dual core not quad core besides I myself don't know how to disable it. Iam still searching how to disable that in other thread, I will be back to tell you what I got later :) Perhaps other people in this forum can help you with Hyperthreading matter. Gunter Severloh 4054 Posted June 5, 2012 I'm quite bad at checking for errors and so on, don't really know what to look for!But no errors has occurred if that's to any help! Use a program for checking for errors, I personally use system mechanic It will defrag your hard drive, defrag your registry, fix errors, and many, many more things.
