Jaypaul97 1 Posted May 25, 2012 Is that why A2 is ridiculously priced everywhere? It's an excellent game but not worth more than 10-20 at this time in it's lifetime. If BI wants profit and people to try their game maybe stop stupidly the overpricing?? Sure it's up to the retailers but still....they're not going to have a large fanbase if years after release they're charging full price.

Ummm....ArmA: Combined Operations is really, really cheap right now, even at $29.99, you're getting two games at that price. Cut $30 in half and you're paying $15 for each game. At least they don't keep it at the full price it was at release.
-Coulum- 35 Posted May 25, 2012 How much is arma 3 going to be sold for upon release? I think it is probably worth well other $65 USD but I know that BIS wants as many people as possible to buy it. what do you guys think it will be priced at.

I think it is probably worth well other $65 USD but I know that BIS wants as many people as possible to buy it. what do you guys think it will be priced at. I think it would be either $39.99, $49.99, or maybe even $59.99. But I doubt the $59.99. I believe ArmA II and ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead were both $39.99 at launch, maybe ArmA II was $49.99. I remember paying I think $60USD for the German version, that included taxes and conversion fees. Then I ended up buying it on Steam so I could play it in English. :D
Ginga121 1 Posted May 25, 2012 I think £30-£35 is reasonable for the UK. As much as I love Arma, if the cost of buying it is going to cost me too much, I wont be able to get it. I don't earn a massive amount after all. Im all for the pay more if you want to idea, but then you need a site that will run that, or at least allow people to donate to some Arma 3 development fund. But the price of buying the game shouldn't be too steep.
PuFu 4600 Posted May 25, 2012 The best way to do it, at least from my POV, is to have a collectors edition with some extra stuff, nicely packed in a metal box or similar, then the bulk of retail packs. I know i would buy the collectors without a sweat. Donations, if you can afford, why not, although maddox pointed it out well enough: you can always buy multiple copies of the game, from bistore, from steam or retail just as well. mr. bravo 17 Posted May 26, 2012 A Collectors Edition of A3 would be massive awesomeness! I always buy these of games I really like, no matter what they cost. Would be awesome to have a miniature frogman statue or something, just to celebrate this whole new water-experience :D Hell I'd buy myself a whole team of them! I feel that this is just a messy way of doing it.
PuFu 4600 Posted May 26, 2012 and the unmessy thing would be some sort of donation system then? i am pretty sure bis knows how to run a bussines if they are still alive and kicking, especially since other studio vanished, and they are making not so commercial games. ProfTournesol 956 Posted May 26, 2012 Maybe a supporter price would be a good thing, more or less like it was done for CC.
haza 1 Posted May 26, 2012 I don't mind how much I pay, I just hope they sell it as a bundle with headset as I am not willing to buy a pair on their own, too expensive. It would also allow people that do not have a haedset to communicate in multiplayer.
nineball 10 Posted May 26, 2012 Yes, but buying more copies means you'd have all these extra keys laying around, which I hate. You can always mail them to me and never bother about them again. xD No really, I can't see what's the problem with having a lot of spare CD-keys. Last year I had to do a LAN party on Arma 2: Free because I hadn't enough CD-keys to play with vanilla/ACE.
Jaypaul97 1 Posted May 26, 2012 For the price I meant if someone doesn't want to trust some shady sketchy thing online from a minor company and wants to buy it from an actual store like Best Buy or EB games. There base A2 is 60 dollars.
frostwyrm333 1 Posted May 26, 2012 I guess they will use the same model as Carrier Command, 20€ for alpha and sprocket version, 40€ for premium and steam. Maybe it will be priced a bit higher like 25/50€.
