f2f_bho 10 Posted February 14, 2012 Okay i had all my weapons proxies set and working , then out of the blue with out changing any thing, they appear offset to the rear of the pylons, they are actually set back from the actual proxys on my model, i even went one further just to see if it was something i did on accident, and removed all proxy objects and reloaded my model , and they are still there,,, what gives guys... so as of right now there are no proxi'd objects nor any mention of them in my O2 Model... [frl]myke 14 Posted February 14, 2012 Sure there isn't anything hidden? Press "CTRL + A" and then "CTRL + SHIFT + H" to unhide eventually hidden parts. If it helps, i could take a look on the MLOD if you don't mind sending it to me.
[frl]myke 14 Posted February 14, 2012 Ok, got a little time to look at it. Mate no offence, but actually it looks like you're trying too much with too little knowledge. There is quite a lot wrong, not only in the model but also in the configs. Would you mind to explain me why the classes UserActions, AnimationSources and Damage are outside of the cfgVehicles? They belong into the scope of the respective vehicle. Also check your configs for missing ; To be honest, i think it would be easier to restart from scratch than hunting down every obvious and hidden problem. And this time, make smaller steps. Make a new folder, copy the AV8B MLOD, put in a basic config which inherits your reworked plane from the BIS class (like you did it already). Besides this, don't copy anything into your folder but make sure you de-PBO'ed the necessary BIS addons onto your P drive so pathnames will fit. For a first working addon, your folder shouldn't have anything else in it than a .p3d file a config.cpp and a model.cfg. Once you've got that working you may start altering stuff like textures and proxies and copy the required files into your own folder. Again, please don't take offence, i've made the very same (or quite similar) mistakes myself.
f2f_bho 10 Posted February 14, 2012 copy, its just strange it all worked fine ,in game and all then these issues and never changed anything
[frl]myke 14 Posted February 14, 2012 Did you ever tried to binarize your addon? At my side, binarize.exe crashed when trying it, probably because the wreck p3d already was binarized. Also the second resolution LOD only had the cockpit. The config.cpp was/is also messed up like i described it above. As said, it might have worked at first (although i would really wonder how) but problems would arise one after the other pretty quickly.
f2f_bho 10 Posted February 14, 2012 nope had it in game testing for a week , fixed all the issues i saw,the Configs i had help with from Soul Assasian, so i am doubtful thats the issue but im not sure, i will look at it some more... as for the user action stuff i was trying to figure all that out , so its not perm yet/at all.... appreciate the reply and no offense taken :) ---------- Post added at 05:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:44 PM ---------- i will have to look at the source model i was using as a ref, on the Cockpit, pretty sure the BIS sample model was the same way.yeah if you check the BIS sample model it is setup the same exact way i have mine... i used the the BIS sample model as my reference. Just counterchecked to make sure i don't tell you any BS. :D When you open the BIS sample MLOD you're correct, it shows LOD 2 the same way as yours. But hit "CTRL + A" and then "CTRL + SHIFT + H" and it will unhide the complete plane in BIS's MLOD but not in yours. And as for the proxy problem, i couldn't reproduce any problem at my side. f2f_bho 10 Posted February 15, 2012 ok i am gonna have to revisit this whole thing, i have been getting tidbits of information for years from the BIS community and its quite difficult to filter thru the BS at times, between people who genuinely are helpful and those that just want to discourage others from gaining the knowledge necessary to succeed in learning how to make content for this great sim, i have been very appreciative of those individuals who have given me the knowledge to get to where i am now, but it has been a difficult journey , thanks Myke and SA and the few others who have taken the time to give good feedback...:)
max power 21 Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) [...]and those that just want to discourage others from gaining the knowledge necessary to succeed in learning how to make content[...] I'm not really aware of any such people. Who would try and discourage new people from starting? At any rate, here is a list of resources for people who are configing. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?130062-The-Configs-amp-Scripting-Info-Thread-(WIP) Edited February 15, 2012 by Max Power
f2f_bho 10 Posted February 15, 2012 not what i ment, sorry for being abstract, what i ment was the new and old developers sometimes have a hard time getting the information in a timely manner,on some of their projects,i have projects i have been battling for awhile that are undone due to a lack of knowledge on my part and not getting good feedback or mentoring to do the project correctly or the verbage is over our heads and gets lost in translation. f2f_bho 10 Posted February 16, 2012 narrowed it down to FDF's F-18C, will check weapons class names(even tho) i inherited BIS's av8b structure, worked fine running vanilla on our server.
