cleggy 297 Posted December 19, 2011 I'm struggling with modelling a vehicle interior. Cargo view LOD. When viewing as driver everything is not to bad. However move to the back and view from the cargo space and artifacts appear and move and scale with head movement. Things I've tried: Removing the bar armour proxies (because the artifacts are stripes). Add and remove rvmats. Remove components. Remove shadow LOD. Just can't pin it down. Anyone got an idea where I should look? You'd make an old man very happy:confused:
Sealife 22 Posted December 19, 2011 Have you tried property LodNoShadow 1 in ViewCargo Lod ?

max power 21 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) Looks like a zbuffer error due to the faces being too close to each other. As you get further away, the zbuffer gets less accurate. You'll probably have to make your buttons taller or rely on texture for them. Edited December 20, 2011 by Max Power
PuFu 4600 Posted December 20, 2011 yeah i agree with max here. The issue is related to the size of those buttons being too small, so you are getting clipping artifacts due to the zbuffer.
cleggy 297 Posted December 20, 2011 Thanks for the advice. I am perfectly willing to accept your diagnosis as I have fought with the 'z's before... What I find interesting/frustrating is the faces chosen to corrupt. The 'rocker' switches I can understand, but the innocent little O2 box right in front of the driver hasn't done anyone harm and isn't as close to anything as some of the other objects. Still, you've given me something to think about, thanks very much.:)
