What should I buy? OA or RFT?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

does the reinforcement addon contain operation arrowhead in it? Or I have to buy both OA and RFT to get complete game (minus arma 2 of course). I want to play MP, but I am afraid that I won't be able to play for US side if I buy RFT only.

Which version do you think is better? OA or RFT for online gameplay?

Thank you.

This

ArmA2 RFT is like 2 DLCs plus some content from OA (not all)

I got ArmA2 + ArmA2 RFT and it gave me everything but the OA campaign. It includes all of the rest of the OA content

I go with Dwarden, I actually have purchased ArmA X depite owning all of the releases already, simply because it much less of a hazzle for a reinstall of ArmA II, ArmA II:OA, BAF, PMC. and the current price is very well O.K. even if you don't consider to install CWA and Armed Asault that come with the same box.

As soon as you go online you will see that the game is only fully enjoyable in the full package simply because ArmA II, ArmA II:OA BAF and PMC have regular use in custom made MP scenarios.

Basically to answer all of your questions, RFT contains everything in OA except the campaign, It does include US units, and multiplayer is completely identical

...and wont be compatible to 75% of popular custom MP missions without A2 content. He won't be able to join most of the public dedicated servers because ArmA II + ArmA II:OA is practically the minimum standard for online gaming right now. Full BAF and PMC are not necessary but enhance the gameplay a lot. Edited by Beagle

Well yeah I didn't say RFT is a replacement for ArmA2. The cheapest option that I know of to get all content for multiplayer is to buy ArmA2 and ArmA2 RFT, which will give you all content from Arma2, ArmA2 OA and both DLC's.
