ARMA Screensharing in realtime

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I would like to start introducing my friends to ARMA editing / scripting (the basics I know).

Which is the best platform to share my screen in real time and show them the editor and then the in-game execution?

I tried GoToMeeting and it didn't work.

I am aware that's a difficult task.

Thank you :)

If you need to send someone exactly what your doing then I'd say logMeIn, it's free. Or take screen shots and send them via Dropbox. Also you could try live-streaming it.

Real time transmission of a live game session might be hard technically and heavy with bandwidth.

Either:

One of the mods here gives a game boss effect to give real time editing of a live multiplayer map.

Or:

Use Arma: Free

Make maps to highlight concept or teaching point

Distrubute them over a dedicated server or host them, All join as if they normal maps/ multiplayer.

Everyone gets the pbo d/l onto their computer during such a session.

Its easy for everyone to then de pbo them and see the real workings,

People realy need time in the Editor, encourage that.

TS3, multi screens and window mode will help.

Play and learn at same time

Kamakazi,

This is way overkill for us.

I just want to be able to show my colleagues in real time simple things ("this is a trigger and this is how you set it. Now let's get into the game and see it. Now let's get back to the editor and see how we can activate the trigger with a specific unit").

Thanks anyway ;)

Team viewer is the best choice for what you want, I've done exactly what you want to do before with my unit. But you need to run the game in windowed mode in order for the other people to see what your doing.

Hope this helps

If it works like bigshotking says, than Teamviewer is simply the best choice, since settinh up the connection is a piece of cake

Great guys, I'll give Teamviewer a try.

Using the free version, can I invite several assistants?

http://join.me is a logmein powered page, and it runs without installation (download&run for sharing, browser based for watching). Most simple solution.

Teamviewer is the best choice though.

Both working with many viewers.
