Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm working on some Rangers and Deltas wearing the multicam.I'm using the Hyk models. Some photos from rangers units and camouflage test:

I think I will make some Rangers with helmets, silenced Rangers with hats,Deltas with a black MICH and silenced Deltas with black MICH helmet and a facecover.

Some suggestions could be good, and photos too.Thanks.

this is great news!! can you do some regular army units too?

for the shotgun units you should use jam ammo, it has the cocking noise. i wanted to tell you that about your sf units. but just on the shotgun.

Is it possible to have some of the Deltas/Rangers with rolled up sleeves like in TQP units or Bleedblack's SAS? IMO, that'd give it the "irregular" feel that it needs.

Aside from that, very nice work! That Multicam looks ace compared to MARPAT or UCP.

unfortunately, I do not know model, then make soldiers with irregular appearance(rolled up sleeves) is hard. But I can try to make faces with beards.I need some ideas to group units, like sniper teams, infatry groups, and other.I think I'll make some infantry units with UCP pouches.

i applaud you on doing groups but they can be so varied from time to time. all the charts with the groupings can be found online and ill try my hardest to get that data to you if groups is what you really want to do.

United States

In the United States Army, a squad is composed of two fireteams of four or five soldiers each, as well as a squad leader who is a Staff Sergeant. A Military Police squad is composed of three teams of three. In the United States Marine Corps, a squad is typically composed of three fireteams of four Marines and a squad leader who is typically a Sergeant or Corporal. In the US Air Force Security Forces a squad is made up of three fire teams of 4 members each led by a Senior Airman or Staff Sergeant and either a Staff Sergeant or Tech Sergeant squad leader.

click here to study the different units within the army you are trying to duplicate and their squad organization. click the link of each unit such as special forces, rangers, etc.

other than that there are a host of other addons that have made accurate squads which you can study such as bas and lsr.

Very nice Ivosm! Maybe on some units you could save original equipment in woodland camo (I'm not talking about uniform, only vests and pouches)? This would make them more diverse.

I was thinking about this yesterday. But I would have to use the OPFOR HYK models or WW4,because I don't have unlocked the RHS models or others.Imagine,HYK OPFOR(or WW4) with ORCS Weapons...cool :D.Working on the idea in my vacation, thank you.

If I had time, would make several infantry units of modern armies, it would be interesting to have several NATO units, like British with MTP,Germans with Flecktarn,Canadians with CADPAT and others.

Out of curiosity: will you use Llauma head model like in your previous addons? During Christmas holidays I'd like to release early version of my Karbala Mod units (Poles and Bulgarians in desert camo), and it'd be great if our addons were compatible!

kneepads on regulars are more common on urban operations like iraq, or in use on special ops. is there any way the regulars can go without? possible per request? yes, no?

They look great Ivosm! But I've to agree with BronzeEagle: on regular infantry kneepads are useless IMHO. But it's your addon, do what you want to and keep up!

I think that in OFP kneepads, or their lack, makes no difference at all :p

But speaking serious, what I meant was that kneepads are rare sight on regular US Army uniforms (simplest method: type "us army iraq" in Google image search, only one photo of soldiers with kneepads on first page, 3 photos when searching "us army afghanistan"), so I think that having them on regular soldiers is waste of polys. But still, it's only my opinion.

One word: Immersion.

i remember when ivosm released his special forces multicam, i was like cool, no kneepads. Everyone throws kneepads on every unit and it makes them look too pampered and less tough, pardon me if i say this, but particularly on the hyk units. they look like they're totally geared out for a spec op and they're only grunts, in a country strapped for cash and in debt i don't think they'd go that special on every single grunt and having less makes them seem more tough. on a special mission unit like devgru or delta it would make a ton of sense fastroping from a chopper having kneepads, but on a tough grunt?

ive seen grunts with kneepads before but just like a vietnam grunt with a card stuck in his helmet, no kneepads adds that tough touch, just like the touch with spec ops is the classified gear, its tough for a grunt to have tough gear like a shotgun and a claymore on the squad and no kneepads. to each his own. i just would hate to have these grunts look so pampered.

and like i mentioned earlier the claymore, grunt squads often carry those, and a grunt may carry a shotgun along with his main weapon, etc.

you'd have to talk to someone that's been a grunt to know for sure. I'm going to talk to my friend Odis in my apt complex to see if he can tell me more about what grunts carry the shotgun, which carry the claymore, and when its time to wear kneepads. be back with that later.

edit:

okay i talked to my friend who was former airborne in iraq and he said whoever was trained for the shotgun or claymore gets to carry it no matter who it is. So it could be anyone you could just make an infantry unit with demolitions or with breaching, etc. But that's what he told me and as far as kneepads some units were issued to carry it depending on the unit.

i remember there being an addon where you could carry two main weapons at once.....
