Backpacking, Rock Climbing, and of course Rifle Shooting.

USSoldier11B has been helping me choose my new rifle and accesorries.

I can finally get rid of that crappy Remington Model 597 .22

I'd love to do rock climbing...

Previously I did skydiving and it gave a bit the same kind of adrenaline kick, sweaty palms and concentration, but it was too expensive and demanding in the long run so I had to quit it.

Unfortunately, my country hasn't got as much as a single rock, so rockclimbing would just end up being yet another expensive thing I'd have to quit. sad.gif

Maybe I could do tree-climbing... confused.gif

It is quite expensive. You need a climbing harness($40-$200), rope($100-200), belay device$10-100), chalk bag($10), chalk$10, carbiners(any where from $8-30), about 20 of them, about 20 quickdraws($10-$30), 20 stoppers of diffrent sizes($10-20), 20 cams of diffrent sizes(and for one of them is $90 each!wink.gif plus alot more.So you are talking about a couple thousand dollars. smile.gif

I ride BMX, so i chose mountain biking (closest one). I ride pretty much everywhere i go, aside from just finding things to jump. Other than that, i work out on my bowflex.

Somehow I knew it - it's always like that with the sports that I wanna do, they turn out to be the more expensive ones. Why can't I just be satisfied with Volleyball or something cheap?  biggrin.gif

It's always the individualist-sports that costs shitloads

Try diving. A dry suit costs about 2000€, and that is just the suit. The bottles go for at least 1000€, the ventiles and valves for about the same + the mask + assorted shit, say 500€

..in short a very good way to burn money

hehe, that would ruin me! I'm a bit of a hardware freak and never go for the cheapest solution. I'd probably end up buying a minisub if I went into diving biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

Martial arts option should have been in that list..

I practise Krav Maga 2 times / week, have done

that for 2 years, and I cycle to work every day,

that is 20km / day..

What about sport games on Playstation?

I would have added that option too.

Oh, I almost forgot that you are from Israel!

How common is Krav Maga there?

Some of our instructors have visited the Guru's there.

LOL! Yes, Krav Magah in Hebrew literally means "contact fighting/battle".

Other than that, how the heck should I know anything about Krav Magah? tounge.gif

As part of the official school ciriculum? Never heard of it!

Soon we won't be able to tell our kids what to do anymore. wow.gif

for how long have you skydived? Do you do teamdives or solo?

just curious really smile.gif

I always jumped with a bunch of others, to split payment for the flight biggrin.gif

I never got my own chute, so I always jumped with chutes someone else had packed ... I stopped when I had to chose between that or getting my own full gear.

btw I play soccer, basketball and I cycle (though not the mountain-bike type of cycling, but going the distance on my 50+ year old noble steed made of steal (it's my dutch nature I gues))

I tried going to the gym, but it was filled with (as called before:) testosterone bricks, which made me sick, so I stopped doing that quite soon.

oh, and my season-related sports: Ice-scating in the winter (only real ice) and swimming in the summer.
