hellfire257 3 Posted October 29, 2011 this is no longer about banks, "Evil" corporations or anything of the sort. That's a huge generalisation. Not everybody protesting is a hooligan.
jblackrupert 14 Posted October 29, 2011 That's a huge generalisation. Not everybody protesting is a hooligan. That was mostly true during the first week or two but now most sites are a soggy crime infested train wreck. Thats what happens when you don't have a plan in place to deal with the people who show up at these types of things intent on creating mayhem. Thats what happens when you invite drug/alcohol addicted homeless people in to artificially infllate your numbers.
walker 0 Posted October 29, 2011 Hi all With posts like those made recently by jblackrupert I think the divisions are clear. So the only thing you need to decide is who you support the 1% like jblackrupert or the 99% :) Kind regards walker
Fox '09 14 Posted October 30, 2011 (edited) It's such as shame since the mayor seems progressive. this is what happens when you militarize your police force. ---------- Post added at 12:06 AM ---------- Previous post was Yesterday at 11:54 PM ---------- I believe in democracy mrcash and in democracies protests don't really count for anything because the protesters were not elected to represent anyone. If I have a problem with something I write to all my local MP's and present reasoned arguments and sometimes I visit their surgeries so I can have a brief debate face to face.. you seriously think that we haven't tried that for the last 30+ years? when your government is controlled by corporations, asking politicians doesn't change anything. If we didn't have a media working for wall street, the prison, military, and pharmaceutical industrial complex, maybe you'd have a legitimate point, because we wouldn't be where we are today. Our government doesn't even respect the rule of law, ie the constitution, war powers act. What makes you think that writing your congressman is going to change anything? Obama was voted in for the reasons people are protesting right now. He hasn't fixed it, and now people are fed up and sick of it all. If you want to know if the protesters have a point, turn on fox news, cnn. CLASS WARFARE! They're ANTI SEMITES! They're MUSLIMS! They're using the hamas handbook! They're putting americans against eachother! They're druggies! They're hippies! Why don't they get a job! They say that because the establishment is scared, not because they believe that bull. Who cares if 99 percent of protests fail. Personally, I don't want to be part of those who sat by and watched as our country turns into a plutocracy @jblackrupert stop watching TV, go to your local occupy protest if there is one.
