twisted 128 Posted October 25, 2011 Trees, airliners, bridges, buildings, cellular tower, you name it and I've probably crashed into it while learning how the flight model works. in fact I've spent so much time crashing in TKOH beta that I've noticed that the way the helicopters crash isn't exactly the best. right now the helicopter impacts, the whole frame stays intact and maybe the rotors fly off. Feels very rigid and lacking finesse. maybe that'd just cause its a beta, although beta normally means pretty much feature complete. gets a bit predictable after the 100th crash. especially since all crashes that happen are not the same - a really hard landing is not the same whacking a cellular tower at 200kh/h. I think it would add to the experience if the damage and disintegration model of the helicopter better reflected the velocity, biggest point of impact, and angle of the crash. and AFAIK most of the time the helicopter shouldn't blow up. Better impacts would be especially awesome in multiplayer. Or if a death cam was incorporated - that'd be a great way to make crashing more rewarding. sort of how the death messages in OFP gave dying a interesting slant. i know release is soon, but hope that in the future this can be considered. it's one of the places in the game i feel needs polish. dcvm 10 Posted October 25, 2011 As i understand, the crashes and the wrecks look as ugly, as in Arma 2? Since OFP, i just hated the way that vehicles were crashed or blown.
xman1 10 Posted October 25, 2011 Isn't the whole point of flying to avoid the crashing part? Maybe I am missing something, but I don't see a massive wreck from helicopter speeds regardless.
-DirTyDeeDs--Ziggy- 0 Posted October 25, 2011 A beautiful crash :p
fboes 10 Posted October 25, 2011 Well, I did my first crash into a crane yesterday while sling-loading on a construction site, and it was quite spectacular. :) But I am missing power lines to crash into. :)
maddogx 13 Posted October 25, 2011 I thought it looked pretty cool when DirTyDeeDs crashed into me the other day. Still got that FRAPS video sitting on my HDD. :D In any case, making crashes look pretty most likely isn't much of a priority for BIS.

froggyluv 2136 Posted October 26, 2011 Agree with OP. It's fun to fly but it's also fun to feel your crash :p Would like to get the sensation of feeling the point of impact rising up with even maybe a head jarring or something to that effect for really hard crashes.
