Fwatch 1.1 compliance

Recommended Posts

Due to my hardware/software owning limitations I unfortunately ask you for help (1.96 only).

I can only test Fwatch on Windows XP and PL edition of the game. It may not work correctly on different platforms so I need you to test it.

You can get Fwatch here and test case here.

Additional information

EXE works with:

flashpointresistance.exe

ofp.exe

DLL works with:

flashpointresistance.exe

flashpointbeta.exe

operationflashpoint.exe

ofpr_server.exe

ofp.exe

I don't know how many editions of Flashpoint were released so please clarify.

something very strange

window XP - GOTY

After computer boot

Launch Fwatch.exe -> mission editor -> select test case mission -> preview :

2M4Ye.jpg

Quit OFP, then after quitting

Launch Fwatch.exe -> mission editor -> select test case mission -> preview :

xU0x0.jpg

Quit OFP, then relaunching Fwatch will always lead into the 2nd (success i guess) case, but if i reboot, it's back to the 1st case the 1st time i launch Fwatch.exe, only quitting then from the 2nd Fwatch.exe launch, it's the 2nd case.

Have you tried the test a couple of times? Sometimes it does not work.

OFP GOTY 1.96, Windows 7

However I have problems with Mouse-wheel, because none of the Mouse-wheel related test missions work... The wheel however works fine in-game... :(

Any ideas?

In missions "_mem_getscroll.Intro", "__MouseScrollIMG.Intro" and "__MouseScrollCAM.Intro" Fwatch does not react to mouse-wheel movent...

  • Bug reported by Sanctuary - fixed. "Cheat 1" string was not always modified.
  • Bug reported by Prof Tournesol - fixed. Thanks to Poweruser who pointed out that reading user from registry is unreliable. Now reading it from memory.
  • Bug reported by Icarus - still working.

Scroll value is held not exactly in the game but in one of the modules - dinput8.dll. It appears that addressing is static for each DirectX version. I wrote a program (source) to get those values. I would be grateful if you could launch it and send me results on PM. Especially people with DX10 because I don't have any data from those.
