There is no such thing as European cooperation during the WC. We hate the guts of our European brothers much more then we hate USA because the European countries are much more dangerous opponents in football. That is why I think that the EU ill ultimately fail. The moment there is a WC all traces of European solidarity and cooperation will vanish.

IsthatyouJohnWayne 0 Posted June 17, 2002 Belgium are actually playing very well, and had a goal (but there was a free kick instead) but now Brazil are in the lead Brazil 1 Belgium 0 71st minute Brazil look very beatable though
Guest Posted June 17, 2002 2-0 Brazil Belgium. Too bad Belgium. So it looks like England-Brazil.. that will be interesting
IsthatyouJohnWayne 0 Posted June 17, 2002 ÖiqĹű Damnit -i thought Belgium were supposed to step on some Brazilian toes and get a few broken bones in those Brazilian-Os  rhyming skills still they didnt look too unbeatable for England. And as long as Brazil are still the favourites then England could clinch it.  Then i would be happy. oh yes.

WhoCares 0 Posted June 17, 2002 Sorry to disagree, but it looks like Denoir's law does not apply anymore. Germany, England, Spain, Brasil and Senegal werre not really underdogs in their matches. So for tomorrow I predict Italy will make it (against South Korea). The only interesting match will be Japan vs Turkey, as they are both not really world famous football nations. My bet here is on Turkey, despite the advantage of the home team for Japan.
Guest Posted June 17, 2002 Of course it does! denoir's law takes denoir's law into consideration. What has happened is that everybody started to believe that the favourites would loose, so they got new favourites. And the new favourites lost according to denoir's law
JAP 2 Posted June 17, 2002 Is it just me or is this already the 2ND time a ref is on Brazil's side If we play bad or don t deserve to win ok. But we were better then Brazil almost the whole match !! And then the goal that got disallowed WTF was wrong with that ?? Tell me ! I hope England will beat the crap out of those lazy-i-think-i-m-soooooooooooo-great Brazilians !!! Go England !! And i ll never go on holiday to Jamaica again !
ralphwiggum 6 Posted June 17, 2002 for Japan and Turkey, my bet is on Japan. Not only they are the host country, but Japan's football infrastructure has been phenonmenonically growing after investing in players and so forth.
Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted June 17, 2002 Well sorry, but England, Germany, Spain and USA are indeed underdogs. England is considered as a good team, but... it was already too often considered as a good team and rarely kept up with expectations. Germany is 100% underdog since we have lost against the most ridiculous nations during the last years. It is actually to shameful to list them up here. Spain is famous for its "bad" worldcup performance if compared to its national league and the performance in UEFA CUP and CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. Well, and USA is a real real new-comer too. (did nobody notice so far that I made some mistakes in the poll. Brasil has of course already four titles, but I thought they had one before 1946 (I was wrong though) so I should have put a 4. Tomorrow we have a the new poll, cause then only 10 teams will be left!
ralphwiggum 6 Posted June 17, 2002 funny... Brazil has been getting increased number of votes, although not as much ans England
habdoel 0 Posted June 17, 2002 denior law says nothing abouth refs Belgium1-2Brazil and nothing gonna change that! i hope england will show those Brazilazy people a lesson

OMG we'd kill everyone. but its not going to happen<span id='postcolor'> No, because they would never play a sport where they wouldnt earn 300000000000000000000004003000000000 dollars for a match of 45 minutes! Or would you rather prefer Hustler or Loney Toons?
Pukko 0 Posted June 17, 2002 I hereby predict USA- Senegal in the final. And Senegal will win! Because its Senegals first WC ever, there are no greater underdog to be found. And I would ofcourse like to see Senegal win for other reasons, like for the good of Africa in general and the nations football, and of course because they will host WC 2010 - or am I wrong there? (and of course to save improve Swedens honour) I would neither by principles dislike if USA won, only if they would 'take over' football and make it another cheap US entertainment thinngy. But thats probably quite unlikely in the present world; but if would probably be real good for our planet if USA really joined up the rest of the world in the only truly international language - the language of fooball

And I only refered to the 2nd round, not the whole tournament. And in this round the teams I listed were the favorites. I meant it only by prestige and international expirience. For sure we would have been not surprised if Germany had lost against Paraguay (especially when we remember the game against Wales), but they were still the favorites in this game. England vs Denmark, Spain vs Ireland, Senegal vs Sweden , all the same.

And the new favourites lost according to denoir's law <span id='postcolor'> eh...denoir.....i'm not sure about your law, but i see no useful ness. assume there are 2 countries, A and B. let's say A is strongest player and B is weaker. then according to your law if A and B gets into match, many ppl will follow denoir's law and say B will in. But your law takes account of itself, meaning that as soon as more ppl believe B will win according to your law, A will win. thus, your law is dependent upon your law's result. so there exists a function that predicts winner, and the function also contains inverse of itself. seems like unusefulness to me. and anybody hear about possible game fixing between S.Korea and Portugal? I heard some claims that Korean player told some ppl that Portugal actually suggested having a draw during the half-time

Ruud van Nistelrooy 0 Posted June 18, 2002 Well, some brazilian player (Carlos or Rivaldo, not sure) said that Brazil v England will be the 'real world cup final'. Basically saying whoever wins that match will go on to win the world cup. England are of course underdogs, but then we ''didn't stand a chance'' against the danes. Given Brazils poor performance against the belgiums though its not entirly impossible to beat them. Its nice to think that a foreign team have such a high opinion of the english team when practically every other team has said they suck ass (like denmark, swedan and argentina). Bring it on Brazil!!! My Predictions: Brazil v England - 1-1 draw. England go through after penalties (for this is the time for England to eliminate past ghosts and stuff etc...) Final - Spain vs England/Brazil
DarkLight 0 Posted June 18, 2002 I watched Brazil - Belgium and i must say that it was the most fucked up game that i've ever seen, first the ref says that the goal doesn't count, i personally couldn't see what was wrong but hey, the ref is from Jamayca (sp?), who knows what was he smoking? Belgium played a lot better for the whole damn game and then they got beaten by Brazil in the last 6 minutes, that's just sick. Oh well, at least we've played well and we can leave the field with a smile on our face Vive la belgique!
