Ahh..summer!

Isn't it wonderful with summer? About 100 m from my apartment there is a beach by the woods and some tracks for jogging/walking. Since the nice weather I have been jogging in the morning. This morning I brought my camera, and here are some pics for your enjoyment smile.gif

This is the marina that is near my apartment. A friend of mine has his boat here, so now and then we go out sailing:

This is actually the behind of a deer. I saw three deers today on my walk, but the little buggers were too fast for me:

Some pictures of the landscape:

I always wondered what that tower on the other side of the bay is, but I never have really bothered to find out:

Me enjoying the sun, and trying not to fall asleep (it's 5:30 in the morning):

The area is otherwise very nice for jogging:

Some very agressive swans. After I took these pictures they made an effort of following me and quacking at me (or barking more like it):

I've been bitching to my friends about how the nearest swim baths are 20 minutes away, but I've been thinking about perhaps start swimming outdoors since it is so near. The water is pretty cold and I am pretty sure that there is a sewage exhaust in the vicinity. So in that case I'll probably get a wetsuit, and I have dived in far worse waters before..

Me almost asleep:

On the way back to civilization:

My bike, not, but it would have been nice smile.gif :

And the circle is completed, my apartment:

*sniffle* i do miss summers in sweden, the land is almost magical in it's pristineness, only thing i could tolerate about that country. latta beer was singlehandedly responsible for me leaving, oh yeah and the ever constant "har du leg" that was present when a bit of alcohol was involved. tounge.gif

Sweden? biggrin.gif

Great pictures Denoir. Makes me miss Northern British Columbia. It's a lot like that there (except for the castle wink.gif) Right now I live in a desert (mostly). Perhaps once summer gets into full swing I'll take some photos and post them. Especially now that I have bothered to set up some webspace so I have a place to post them!

Though I consider my neighbourhood nice, it doesn't quite beat yours wink.gif

I once lived near swans too, and don't miss that animal very much biggrin.gif

Wow, you are lucky, man! I would probably have to drive 60 km from my home to see such a beautiful landscape. And there is no way in hell i'm gonna find 3 deers near Madrid! That's one of the bad things of living in a city inhabited by 4 million people sad.gif

It's in Stockholm, pretty central actually. The nice thing with Stockholm is that it is distributed on a number of islands, so it is never far to water. We also have a lot of parks and nature around.

Stockholm has 1 million inhabitants.

You are right about that it is a pretty good location. The downside is the small apartment (about 25 m^2) and the high rent.

That's what I like about Canada and countries with similar landscape and population distribution, nature is never more than an hour's drive away. In my case, about a 20 minute bike ride.

Not to mention skimpy clothes!, I don't even have to go to the beach to see that. smile.gif Today is our second day of real summer-like weather after an unusually cold and rainy May/April. As usual, the ladies were out in their tight fitting shirts and shorts in the 25+C weather. Ahhh summer.

It's nice to be back after a few days, my browser was giving me problems regarding access to the site, anyone else have this problem?

Nice landscape,

that sea pic make me want to go out for a swim,

to bad the only natural watercourses where i live is the Rhein river or, as some call it the waste dump (not very recommended for swimming, have a scar on the lower leg that reminds me of that) and some small lakes.

well, you got great foliage there Denoir...it's may in SoCal, and I live 50 miles away from coast line, meaning that there are not much green stuffs around here. all brown..yuk.

but other side of the story is that we don't have snow in winter. but we do have green leaves and grasses since rain comes in winter. and temperature almost NEVER drops below 0 celcius.

I HATE SUMMER mad.gif got mow the damn lawn deal w/ pesky vermon thats coming out of hybernation that get into the trash, build nests on and in your home and bake in the sun

give me the damn artic circle any day smile.gif

advantage of being cold: you can simply add more clothing on to get warm to your liking

disadvantage of being hot: you can only be legally so naked in public biggrin.gif or can take all of it off at home and still be hot mad.gif
