Odd problem playing ArmA 2 on my computer.

Recommended Posts

After about 15 minutes of gameplay, a strange thing occurs when I am playing ArmA 2 that causes the screen to 'plaididate'. Plaididate essentially means turn plaid, in my vocabulary. Honestly, it looked as if my Computer screen was taken over by the letters from "The Matrix" only they were covered up in a nice green Plaid shirt. The system wouldn't close out from Arma 2, and I had to shut-down the computer by holding down the power button.

What's going on with this thing? Is it an overload? I tried to correct by lowering to the lowest graphics, and it was as if it acted even worse.

I have a Vista, with Intel Core 2 Quad processor, Nvidia 9800 GT, and a High Definition LCD Screen that's never given me trouble before.

If it helps, I was running a mod-map. I put it straight into the directory. Podagorsk or something like that. I was patched up to 1.09.

Could it have been overheating?

Sounds like a graphics crash, have a look at drivers.

Yes, or overheating.

Either overheating, inappropriate overclocking or insufficient power supply. Please check those points.

Ok, problems came up pretty easy. Did an entire system re-formatting and going to do a full vaccume of the tower sometime tomorrow. I don't know if it would be the graphics or not, but if it was, it should be fixed now. I remember taking a CD-RW out before all this, and it was a hot little sucker. Overheating's probably what's up.

It may also be the fact your system isnt up to running Podagorsk, as it can lower the framerate of even the best systems... Update to 1.10 aswell ;)
