i don't understand why you can't change it...but you might wanna look over Binko sample then http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=94538

I can delete all magazine pouches etc from body but armor itself including shoulder paddings are part of soldier body , my plan is to add my gear to already weighted(skined) soldier in o2 , and yep i tried the US_soldier template by Binkowski it has problems some vertexes apear not weighted properly when i open it in o2

ok, get what the problem is. Well, afaik the A1 models have different skeleton, so you'll still have to rig those. Having some sort of "clean mesh" already weighted, well, you can ask the people who have already released modeles for A2. StalkerGB, Fox and Binko (cameron is lazy nowadays). Maybe they can help you.

Other than thatm stalker tut covers weighting in O2.

The problem you have there with the us_soldier model Bink put together doesn't actually matter, happens all the time to my work. In game there isn't a problem, if you remove the model.cfg then you'll notice the problem is sorted (ish) in buldozer. Just remember to put it back when you create a PBO and load up the game :)

Generally it is a good idea to have things like the body armour joined to the rest of the model, I used to do it by placing new armour/vests ontop but sometimes you'd find there were selection/weighting problems that were annoying to fix.

What you could do with the us_soldier model is merge the points the make up the edge of the Body armour so that it is no longer raised. You'd probably have to play around with the UV map slightly but you should be able to retexture the Vest into a shirt or something.

EDIT: You could probably also do that with Jonny's SF models, if you delete his Vest model and merge yours onto the model it should work. Might be a bit of work to do though.

I'm not sure if there is a model that is just a shirt with no body armour on but someone might have one.

If you need to re-weight something could be worth looking at the overview I did: Weighting Overview

Sorry I can't be of too much more help but if you need any advice just post in here and I'll do my best.

EDIT2: I'll have a look to see if I have a "clean mesh" model buried somewhere, if I do I'll upload it for you.

EDIT3: Right, well I have found a very old mesh that is sort of clean, if you stick a vest on top it's probably all right. One thing you should watch though is MY SELECTIONS USE LOWER CASE names instead of UPPER CASE. You might need to rename them if your stuff is using upper case otherwise the selections might not animate at all.

Anyway, Link to mesh: Link to STALKERGB's Clean(ish) Mesh
