Aspide 10 Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) After the release of patch 1:59 I saw the shadows in the game are no longer defined. I have also seen that the antiliasing is not at its maximum performance, even if the video options are set to "very high " are seen structures with undefined borders. If you raise the value of 8 antiliasing to the grass turns white, absurd! What happened? I installed the latest official NVIDIA drivers, and left all settings to default and all other games work fine. Edited May 1, 2011 by Dwarden
NeMeSiS 11 Posted April 26, 2011 Check 'AtoC' on the search function here or the biki.
Aspide 10 Posted April 27, 2011 Atoc In setting a value of 0 returns the grass green, but the shadows are really a disaster, even though I set the maximum antiliasing you see the lines are not even well defined on objects. What is Biki?
NeMeSiS 11 Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) To be honest i dont know what you mean with 'defined', did you set the shadow settings above normal so you get those GPU calculated shadows, instead of the sharp CPU calculated ones? Aspide 10 Posted April 29, 2011 To be honest i dont know what you mean with 'defined', did you set the shadow settings above normal so you get those GPU calculated shadows, instead of the sharp CPU calculated ones? I did some testing, I noticed that by increasing the game settings in detail of the shadows "very high" presents the problem. Setting the value of the shadow to "normal" but the problem decreases the antiliasing affected, because the contours of the windows and structures do not have good detail. By turning off shadows completely, clean and very detailed graphics back without problems antiliasing. How is this possible?
EasyC 10 Posted April 29, 2011 Hi Aspide. Is this the kind of thing thats happening? AA Very High + Shadows Normal AA Very High + Shadows Very High
Aspide 10 Posted April 30, 2011 (edited) Yes, the shadows are not detailed if set to high values. If the shadow is set to a lower value becomes more detailed, but it suffers from the AA, in fact the contours of the structures and units to present an outline of white and grooves. I attach photos and video in 1080. Edited April 30, 2011 by Aspide
Dwarden 1125 Posted May 1, 2011 in short Normal = CPU shadows High / Very High = GPU shadows thus shadowing techniques differ ...
Aspide 10 Posted May 1, 2011 in shortNormal = CPU shadows High / Very High = GPU shadows thus shadowing techniques differ ... The problem then would be the driver? If set to "very high" you experience the problem, to "normal" is seen less. You might consider all these graphics issues after the release of the last patch? What do you suggest? Aspide 10 Posted May 1, 2011 Yes I have tried to disable ATOC to 0, solve the problem of white grass, but the shadows set to values "very high" become as photos. Although the AA is not the most, the edges are not defined
Aspide 10 Posted May 7, 2011 I'm sure not a hardware problem, these days I bought another video card and EVGA GTX580 Super clocked a system made in SLI. I do not know if the problem is driver 270.61 or 1:59 the latest patch which is not very optimized. I hope that Bohemia checked the shadows in the next patch. Honestly, I have tried everything but I could not understand what could depend.

Aspide 10 Posted May 7, 2011 I still dont know if you tried setting the shadows to normal or not. Sure, I set the shadows to normal but I have not solved the problem. There is always the atiliasing that has no HD.
Sif 10 Posted May 7, 2011 Well that was an interesting fact to learn, just set my Shadows to Normal and my game looks better. Same with my AA somehow.
daraofp 10 Posted October 9, 2012 When on AA+ High or Very High shadows the edges only look jagged when playing in 3rd person, have you looked at the shadows from first person. They look fine to me when playing first person, it's when you switch to 3rd person they look jagged on high and Very high
