Lonestar 11 Posted March 30, 2011 (edited) I'm happy I can finally play your missions again because they don't require ACE anymore. I have good memories of your A2 missions. With Revive too? What happened to you? Will your website be updated with OA content? Edited March 30, 2011 by Lonestar
Lonestar 11 Posted April 5, 2011 (edited) 5 server FPS on average, there's gotta be something wrong with this mission... I loaded another mission of yours on Fallujah (FOB Liberty) and didn't encounter this problem (50 server FPS on average). I'm thinking of your patrol script or a wrongly set up revive. We completed the mission even so. Edited April 5, 2011 by Lonestar
jw custom 56 Posted April 5, 2011 It's probably the number of AI used, though it runs just fine my end!
Lonestar 11 Posted April 5, 2011 Do you run it on a remote dedicated server? The mission was nice though, just too much stutter at times. Good atmosphere and intense firefights.
jw custom 56 Posted April 5, 2011 I've tried hosting from my computer and also running dedi and join from same computer. This mission should run smoothly for you -> http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=117023
Lonestar 11 Posted April 5, 2011 Everything you mention is local. You tried a hosted game and a local DS, not a remote one. As said the FOB Liberty mission runs smooth at 50 FPS (server side).
kMaN175 34 Posted April 9, 2011 Another great mission from JW. We did have a couple of issues with the revive, 1) I only could set the parameters of the revive from 1-3, 2) Even after we were killed more than 3 times, we could still be revived, 3) the bots would get bugged if we revived them sometimes, they would lay on the ground with their pistol out. Other than that, it was a great mission, we love the lack of NVG's but it is light enough to still enjoy the mission! Thanks JW!
galzohar 31 Posted April 9, 2011 What CPUs are you guys using (Lonestar and JW_Custom)? How many AI are in the mission?
jw custom 56 Posted April 10, 2011 Another great mission from JW. Thats a problem on my end, i simply referred to wrong array, doh(thats fixed in Rise'n'shine). 2/3. Thats a problem that "broke" revive script when OA came(personally i feel OA brought more annoyances than joy). @galzohar My CPU: Core I7 920. Thanks for reporting back
Lonestar 11 Posted April 11, 2011 What CPUs are you guys using (Lonestar and JW_Custom)? How many AI are in the mission? It's definitely not a CPU problem. What are you getting at? Overall it's a nice mission, there's just a huge performance problem. I've reported it and now it's up to JW Custom to fix it if he wants to.
galzohar 31 Posted April 11, 2011 Trying to see if it really is the number of AI overloading your server's CPU, since he did test this mission on a pretty high-end CPU (i7-920).
Lonestar 11 Posted April 11, 2011 (edited) We have a Xeon E5405 (quad core with 12M cache). Usually missions run at around 50 FPS, even the most CPU intensive. @JW Custom: did you check the server FPS using #monitor? Edited April 11, 2011 by Lonestar
galzohar 31 Posted April 11, 2011 Ah yeah of course if he is testing on dedicated then having good FPS on client is meaningless, but he did say he also tested on hosted so if it would run at 7 FPS on a good CPU then I think he'd notice. Or do AI tend to take up more CPU on a dedicated than hosted server (doubtful...)?
Lonestar 11 Posted April 11, 2011 I don't know Galzohar, but we're getting somewhere. It would be good if someone could reproduce the problem.
