Baz 0 Posted February 26, 2011 Hi, I'm working on a USMC IFAV pack, modeling IFAV from scratch based on blueprints and reference photos. I am using a short wheelbase blueprint MB 290 GD but once model is complete I will extend the rear to be length of the longer wheelbase chassis which is what USMC uses I'm new at all this so I could use alot of help from ppl on forums who are modders / addon makers. I am making it in 3ds max because the user interface is more friendly to me than 02, so at some point it will need to be converted into O2 and working ingame. I hope to have lots of realistic variants when finished and hope to maybe even have a replacement config optional so you can use these vehicles in Harvest Red campaign as Razor Team instead of HMMWVs. Which I am surprised BIS did not add IFAV to Arma2 in the first place since it is specific to USMC Force Recon. I hope to have following versions: canvas top open top M2 MG M240 MG SAW MG TOW missile MK19 GL Special Forces

Baz 0 Posted February 26, 2011 I decided to remodel the whole thing again because I was not happy of the resulting shaping of the body. What I can say tho is that this attempt at remodeling is the BEST YET... I must have remodeled this thing like 4 times, but this time around the car is looking great and accurate. I'm working on the hood / bonnet right now and it looks so accurate to the real thing... Which is flat and boxy at different heights.
Baz 0 Posted March 1, 2011 here is my work so far, front of vehicle is nearing completion and the rest still to come
johncage 30 Posted March 1, 2011 the reason the first few look bad is because you forgot to turn off smoothing.
Baz 0 Posted March 1, 2011 no, I did the smoothing just for taking a WIP shot... But I wasn't happy with the shaping of the model compared to the IRL car. But with this new scratch made model and better reference pics and blueprints its much better now... Old model for comparison
