Fellden 10 Posted February 21, 2011 Hi! Since I bought my copy of ArmA2 OA I havn't been able to join most servers shown to me. Whenever I try to join a server, i go straight back to the servers menu, with this message popping up on my screen. " You can not play/edit this mission, it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.utes, CAWheeled2_BTR90. CAWheeled2_LAV25, caweapons_ammoboxes, chernarus, castractures..." The message change a little bit frome time to time but the "CAwheeled" part is always there. Note that I have made sure that i am totaly updated with patches and i have not been fiffling with any mods or addons. I am starting to suspect that the problem relies in that i do not own the "original" arma 2, but only the OA version? Is that so? Please, I really want to know why I can't play on most servers. The ArmA series are absolutely fantastic, I love them. Thank you for your reply!
Defunkt 431 Posted February 21, 2011 Most servers run Combined Operations which is Arrowhead installed on top of the original ArmA 2 merging the content from both into a single game (highly recommended). Which edition of A2 to get (DVD, Sprocket or Steam) will depend on which edition of OA you have (DVD/Sprocket are interchangeable but Steam only works with Steam) and in the case of the former at least will require you to uninstall OA then install A2 then OA after that to make CO. Steam is apparently a bit different but I don't know precisely how.
Fellden 10 Posted February 21, 2011 So basically, what you are recommending is that i should 1. buy the original ArmA2 2. Uninstal OA and then install both, merging them together - to be able to play on most servers?

Fellden 10 Posted February 21, 2011 Haha! i get it. Well thx a lot for the help! BTW, can i download sound addons and still play on all servers? or will they reject me for having "weird" files or whatever. ---------- Post added at 10:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:45 PM ---------- I looked around on the web and found some info. To play on the domination coop mode Xeno the creator recommends to use the latest versions of the ACE2 mod and A2T mod. Can this be why i Can not play on their servers as well? galzohar 31 Posted February 21, 2011 Some servers may reject you for running unapproved addons, others may not. If you're missing addons that are needed by a mission that is being run on a server, you will be automatically kicked with the "downloadable content that has been deleted" message (which ends with a name of an addon that you are missing - If it's ACE then it'll say ACE_something). You can actually run CO no matter where you got the game. For example I have friends running OA from steam combined with A2 from DVD. You just have to have an appropriate shortcut line for the game or simply use a launcher.

There are various versions of Domination, some for ACE, many for the vanilla game. ACE is a major overhaul mod- you only need to it to play on servers running it, and will be unable to play on any servers not running ACE while using it. The server will almost always have 'ACE' in it's name. The nice thing about add-on/mods is you don't overwrite the vanilla game content, when installed properly (see 'mod folders'). If you remove the mod from your launch parameters, you are no longer running it and can once again join servers that block it. Makes it easy to make a few shortcuts for various combinations of mods (stock, ACE, stock + sound mod, etc).
