Star Wars has the massive geek appeal, even higher than Spider-Man.

And from all I've heard, AotC doesnt suck, and is a genuinely good movie. In which case, of course, the harcore fans will see it even more times. Plus it's a wider release worldwide, so it'll rocket up the scales that way. My prediciton, if it doesnt suck ass, is that it'll do 250+ million first three days.

It's estimated that over 20 billion dollars will be lost from Canada's economy on the day that Star Wars is viewed.

This is because so many people will skip work to go see it.

So people pay $20 to go see a 3 hour movie. But they lose $18-$150 because they skipped work for 3 hours. (Small number of people in Canada make more then $50/hr-tax)

Apparently they didnt cut Jar Jar completely, but he is only on for about a scene or so... notice how theyve kept him out of the previews? lol. I guess Star Wars is going to light them up, but if MIB2 is as funny as the first one it might give Star Wars a run for its money

Im just glad that im not one of those desperate people that camp out for days to see a movie like star wars. I went with my friend and camp out for a couple of hours and got to see it at midnight on the first day it came out. It was probably because of the area i live in.

Well, it's like $13 CDN a ticket, plus (at least) $7 CDN for a small popcorn and small drink.  

It's even more expensive outside of Ontario. In Newfoundland, it's like $25 CDN for the ticket alone.

Fetish, where do you go to movies! Yeah, the popcorn and soda is overpriced, but ticket prices here in BC where I am still top out at 10 dollars.

And I too have tickets for the midnight show opening night. Got to keep up with tradition. I didnt however hae to wait in line. I have a friend that is friends with the owner of the theater. Alas, I have to stand in line with all the costumed weirdos the eveningbeofre if I want a reasonably good seat.

Yepp, did a search on Direct Connect and found it directly. It is however a telesync screener (filmed in a movie theatre) and therefor crappy quality. I can't imagine who would like to spoil their experience by watching it.

I was more impressed when a DVD rip of LOTR emerged a couple of days before the premiere.
