NEO -PZ- 0 Posted May 8, 2002 XP Pro is on NT technology, so many games aren't compatible with it. I don't know if Home edition is developed on NT tech?
SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted May 8, 2002 On my laptop, which has the full version of XP home edition, it works fine.On my desktop, i have XP Home upgrade, which i upgraded from Me, and it works fine.XP is based off of Windows 2000.Thats why its more reliable then Me. Im not shure then if XP Pro is compatible though. All though my friend has XP Pro and he is able to ply Midtown Madness 2, so i dont see why it wont work with XP Pro.Maybe you try it out tell us. If it doesnt work... we never meet.
NEO -PZ- 0 Posted May 8, 2002 Midtown Madness is made by M$ just like XP, I think that's why. I've got original Home Edition Upgrade here, but i get a bloody error message and Compaq's support couldn't help me cause I didn't have the authority or something, and so on. So my friend is gonna bring Windows 98 to me tomorrow and we'll install that and try to upgrade from 98 to Home Edition. If it doesn't work, he's bringing downloaded XP pro full product ( ) and hopefully OFP will work on that one. If it doesn't... But if it does... I'll tell you how it goes. And by the way, I've got NO illegally burned software on my pc, but I've payed 120 euro for that Home upgrade which didn't work, so God I'm gonna use the downloaded one if I can't upgrade from 98 either. Mister Frag 0 Posted May 8, 2002 OFP works fine for me on both Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP Professional, in both a single and dual-CPU configuration.

ALDEGA 0 Posted May 9, 2002 Both XP versions (home and pro) run on NT technology. If it works on one, it will work on another. It works on win2k too. It doesn't on NT4. NT4 is the latest true NT OS IMHO, because it didn't support directx (and thus was not aimed at playing games), while its successor, win2k, does have DX support. NEO -PZ- 0 Posted May 9, 2002 Hey, It was the Me I had that couldn't get along with XP Home Edition Upgrade. My friend brought a Windows 98 cd and we installed it and then upgraded to XP with that CD I bought, and it works alright. I haven't installed OFP yet. Saved all maps, missions under construction, campaign under gaming, etc. Thanks everyone ! /Penetrator
