DX11 or DX9

Recommended Posts

Hello friends i have a question.

my system is

MSI k9N new v3

AMD Athlon 64 x2 4000+

4 GB Ram

ATI HD5670 512MB GDDR5 128bit

Windows 7 x32

DX11

The Tutorial missions are okay on high and normal settings , but in normal game play , campaign and etc. the FPS totally drops to something like 20 ... lowing the settings didnt get some big frame rate increase ...

Can u tell me please , if i switch back to Win XP and DX9c would the game run faster (maybe its the DirectX)? If NO ... can u please suggest how to improve the performance of the game :( ? Please?

Hmmmm... I think on that system you won't get any much better performance. I guess that CPU is not overclocked? Or is it? ;]

Also note that this game does not support DX11, it will run in dx9 regardless of the OS.

I must add however, that performance in XP was way better for me then win7

I also think that your CPU is holding you back big time, lower settings not yielding an increase in frame rate is a good indicator for that.

Arma 2 is DX9 only, regardless of what OS you use. That said, if you have easy access to XP (dual boot) I would certainly try it out there too.

Framerate always drops with AI involved ( of course depending on your system if you consider the nature of ArmA ) ;)
