Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted May 7, 2002 Here I go again. Will there be an mp game browser in OFP ressistance? You talked about new improved lobby-thingy, but I dont really know what that means. Thanks Btw BIS, you still forgot to send me that sixpack of uruquay (or however its spelled).
Mister Frag 0 Posted May 7, 2002 I recall reading somewhere that Resistance would in fact feature an in-game server browser.
Chris Death 0 Posted May 7, 2002 Just a thinking, but wouldn't it be possible, to create some kind of ingame browser by ourself? If you alter/edit the hosts.txt file, while the game is running, it doesn't cause problems. I've tried that, and my server appearance on the server setup screen changed. A server, not showing up before, showed up after changing the file. If there could anybody create some stuff like ASE (i can't do it, not experienced enough for this job), and save the output of the server spy directly to the hosts.txt file, it probably could be done. It would be just a simple ingame browser, but at least we could have one. If this ain't possible, forget what i said.
Mister Frag 0 Posted May 7, 2002 It's possible, but a kludge, and an unnecessary one, since we will soon have an in-game server browser.

As i recall BIS never said it, although other people have come up with the idea. Some1 even mentioned about an ASE-thing that could be imported into the ofp code without much trouble? N.o.R.S.u 0 Posted May 8, 2002 Hmm should BIS start working with ASE team (lol ase=gun in Finnish), that would lead to much wanted in game joining.
