-martin- 10 Posted December 1, 2010 Hello everyone once again  A couple of days ago I was reading some of the threads here in the addons discussion section and in the Tatra thread the author kindly gave anyway some of his unfinished model, one of the model that caught my eye in particular is the Maz 537 because there is no vehicle which enables the OPFOR to transport tanks in ArmA 2 at the moment, not that I know of at least. So since my other projects are very close to being completed I decided to finish this quickly. History: The MAZ-537 is a Soviet army artillery truck designed and developed by MAZ (Minsky Avtomobilny Zavod - Minsk automobile plant),Belarus. The MAZ-357 was designed in the beginning of the 1960's and is capable of towing a trailer with a tank or cargo up to 7 tones or an R-14 intermediate-range ballistic missile. Specifications: wheel formula - 8x8 carrying capacity - 7,000 kg (15,432 lb) max weight - 18,975 kg (41,833 lb) trailer weight - 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) velocity - 60 km/h (37 mph) dimensions - 8,780 mm (345.7 in)x2,805 mm (110.4 in)x2,915 mm (114.8 in) track width - 2,150 mm (84.6 in) wheel base - 5,750 mm (226.4 in) engine - liquid-cooled diesel power 375 hp (280 kW) (on 1650 rpms) Source: Wikipedia Progress: Modelling: 95% Texturing: 50% Scripting: 50% LODS: 20% Overall: 40% Screen shots: Estimated Release Date: Next week Credits: Original Model: Jarinator90 UV mapping, textures, various model enhancements, animation: Martin Thanks to Richard Th0rn3 for clearing up a lot of things in the model.cfg! -martin- 10 Posted December 1, 2010 cool :) but red stars :P?? Its like CoD all over :) Mmmm what's wrong with the red stars? It's a Soviet vehicle. If you take a look at this photograph of a Maz 537, you see that these stars are present on the real thing: http://www.russiantruck.co.uk/images/films/maz537-070906-05.JPG What does CoD have to do with this? ray243 11 Posted December 1, 2010 Are you planning to add the intermediate-range ballistic missile? And great work!

Martin, it's just not valid reference it's a photo of british owned vehicle from a 'for sale' collection - and the star has been placed there not by the soviets, t6hat's for sure you should try to look for pics of vehicles in actual service CoD? He meant the 'overlabeling'... in class-B movies and in CoD'ish productions the symbol is heavily overused. they must think the more red stars the more soviet things are... probably believing that soviet toilet paper had those too.... (note that only the parade-paintscheme of soviet vehicles has such star) http://avto.at.ua/MAZ/images/MAZ_history.jpg normally you shoul go for plain soviet khaki http://www.mycity.rs/imgs/99624_63416509_MAZ-537.jpg Edited December 1, 2010 by topas

topas 1 Posted December 1, 2010 (edited) Well, it's up to you after all and not for us or anyone else to decide ;) you're the boss in your playground man ;) And remember, even if not 100% true to reality - it'd still be coherent and would go good with good old BIS clichees 1 2 3 etc, etc.. icebreakr 3157 Posted December 1, 2010 -Martin-: is the trailer already working in-game? Would we be able to attach various vehicles and transport them (damaged, out of fuel)?
-martin- 10 Posted December 1, 2010 -Martin-: is the trailer already working in-game? Would we be able to attach various vehicles and transport them (damaged, out of fuel)? I'm currently working on the trailer model and there is still lots of scripting to be done so it doesn't work in game yet. If anyone has a script that can be used with this project please do send it to me and I will be able to release this faster. And yes we will be attach vehicles but not without fuel because you have to drive them on to the trailer
Jarinator90 10 Posted December 2, 2010 (edited) You should see me smiling when I saw those screens.:) When I started to make this model, I wanted to to make it as trailer and I think it was Gnat who discovered the "pin and hole" in GEO lod. or this script may be solution BTW, this could help you with the interior: http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/2860/maz537102.jpg http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/1571/maz537115.jpg http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/1583/maz537119.jpg http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/1406/maz537120.jpg http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/1518/maz537124.jpg EDIT: http://www.bart300872.republika.pl/maz-537/chmzap-5247_M05.png Edited December 2, 2010 by Jarinator90
