How to install new patchpack on dedicated server.

Recommended Posts

Hi!

First Q:

Is it necessary to install this patches on the server if i want the server to suport clients who have this install'd?

Sec Q:

How do i do this the best way? Rent server from gameservers.com

Yes you would need to run the patch on the server so that clients who have installed the patch can join.

If you have root access to the dedicated server, and ArmA is installed on the system (which properly puts in the registry keys for the patch to work) you would just download and install the proper patch on your server.

Is this a Dedicated server, or do you just have a control panel to control it with?

I also have a server from Gameservers, one for Arma and one for Arma2, but what you do to apply the patch is go

to the admin panel, and look for the update button, go on that page and click on the radio button and you should see

which patches you can apply, stop your server first, and then apply the patch you want.

Your provider would need to take care of the patching for you whether manually or by control panel. I'd shoot them a call/ticket/email to see what the procedure is.

Hope this helps!

Provider dont need to do the patching, as long as you have access to the admin panel to gameservers which I do have one,

the same as him, all you need to do is go to update on the panel, like I said in my previous post, and pick which patch you

want to apply from the list, then hit process, and it applies it for you.

that being said do you have access to the Admin panel for your server Logitrust?

Thanks. has unfortunately not allowed for any admin panel. But open'd a ticket, got to

some of the moderators to do the update for me. works great now.
