no, it's not that simple. firstly answer the following question, do you have the mlods of the arma1 units? or do you want to simply take another persons work and put it into arma2?

if you have the mlods, well then porting isn't too difficult. since having access to the mlods means you either actually made the dudes yourself, or had the creator send them to you. well then the following steps should be easy.

1. get the arma2 sample soldier.

2. copy the following lods from the arma2 soldier to your arma1 soldier, and make sure you delete the old crap from the arma1 soldier. don't duplicate it.

- memory
- geometry
- hit points
- fire geometry
- land contact

3. change up the config

4. remove the fixed head model from lod 1.000 and replace it with the bysta proxy

5. write up the model.cfg with the new arma2 stuff

6. put the dudes in game.

and if you don't have the mlods. well then, you're fecked. i'm sure you could probably get away with just updating the configs and putting the pbo into arma2. but you'll have animation issues, as well as some probable game crashes.

Good roundup, also there's a problem with the shadowLODs. Because of the new face selections the ArmA1 mouth selections etc. are no more.

You'll get strange large shadow spikes that start at the mouth if you don't update that. To fix it, I always selected the whole face in the shadow 0.000 lod and resaved it as head selection.

Else the artifacts will be caused by the mouth and nose selection, which are no part of the head selection.

sorry for the really late post only just found this thread now anyway get the .pbo's from arma 1 and create a mod folder in your Arma 2 root directory called @Arma or something, create another folder inside called Addons and then place the .pbo's inside this. If you have CO just activate the mod in game and there you go voila. Hopefully this helps and works if not then sorry i found this on another forum and i cant remember which one, although it does work with arma 2 stuff in arma 3. personally i have not tried this so good luck
