guy123 10 Posted September 25, 2010 Slight change in subject this time, now I'd love to squire some help regarding our tanks wheels. Basically, as we are working on the port, we have some old ArmA compatible tanks that obviously bump into errors in the ArmA2 engine. Basically, Alpha maps were used in abundance on the wheels of the tanks, but this causes strange 'white artefacts' around the edge of the alphas. To counter this we used the 'alpha test flag' However, this results in the wheels flicking to black un-alphad squares when even slightly damaged. We've now taken away the alphatest flag, as this error was VERY noticeable, but now we are left with the white artefacts around the edge of the alphas. Does anyone know how to fix this? http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/4372/fixedsortofundamaged.jpg http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/5857/fixedsortof.jpg
dm 9 Posted September 25, 2010 Yeah, remodel the wheels as proper solid cylinders. Its 2010, wheels dont need to be alpha planes anymore! :P
roberthammer 582 Posted September 25, 2010 Have you tryed this? - in O2 select those Alpha and then under Faces > Move top
JdB 151 Posted September 25, 2010 Try this: [Disable alpha channel interpolation]
Spartan 163 0 Posted September 27, 2010 You do know you can post in ONE thread instead of making one for each problem you have?
guy123 10 Posted October 4, 2010 Hey guys, ok managed to fix it, basically it was due to a 'alphatest' render flag being in the RVMAT's. Apparently it was a work-around to the problem you get when one alpha is in front of another, however, it caused the death of alphas and colour upon being shot. I removed this alphatest flag, and was confronted with the problem of alphas going white when passing over each other, however I fixed this issue by selecting the rearmost faces, and clicking faces>move to top. I'd then select the faces above these, and do the same, working my way from the rear to the front. This has fixed the problem, and thanks all for the help! :)
