Undeceived 392 Posted August 9, 2010 Wow!! The guy walked the Amazon river from the source to the ocean on foot! He walked 6400 kilometers and it took him 2,5 years. He completed the jorney today or yesterday (not sure). http://www.walkingtheamazon.com/ The man has my respect!

HotShot 0 Posted August 10, 2010 If anyone's near London he's doing a talk in November, a friend booked me on it a few days ago. Hadn't heard of him, just like Michael Palin who's there too. But sounds like this guy could be interesting, has had an eventful life prior to this too it seems.

sic-disaster 311 Posted August 10, 2010 Much respect. This reminds me of The Longest Journey, a similar venture by a German dude who wanted to walk from Beijing back to Germany and has been on the road for a year. He had made a pretty nice video about it too, with pictures he shot of himself showing his hair and beardgrowth :p Walking the Amazon is no small feat, and dedicating such a long time of your life to such a goal is worthy of a lot of respect. The journey must have been amazing, with all it's ups and downs.
