I've managed to create tasks that are hidden at the start by changing their owner to bluefor instead of 'synchronized objects only'. The problem is that when I use the trigger to create these objects, if the 'create task' is set to created or assigned, then the task is always instantly completed, but if its set to failed it will do the right thing and set it to failed. The chain of synced items goes: groupLeader > createTask1-Assigned > setTaskState-Suceeded > Trigger > setTaskState-Assigned > createTask2 If I link every createTask to the groupLeader and set everything to 'synchronized objects only' it will not hide the tasks at the start, but when I have everything in one single chain the missions are instantly completed for some reason. Could anyone please tell me what could be causing this? Thanks.

How to create a task for picking up gear?
SaintF4LL posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Hey, I'm quite new to mission editing and yes, I used the search function before asking. But maybe I used the wrong words or my english is not good enough. Maybe my question is easy to answer. I'm just designing my first sp mission and wonder if it is possible to create a Task for the player to pick up his gear from a box. How do I write the script for setting the Task to accomplished? Right now I inserted a trigger, that sets the task as accomplished, when the player is leaving the room again. But that will accomplish the task even when the player is leaving the room without picking up his gear. The player will start at a beach and gets a radio call from HQ, that vacation is over and he should pick up his gear and put on his uniform in a cabin nearby. (Don't laugh. I'm just testing... ;) After that call the task should appear. It should be accomplished and switch to the next waypoint/task, when the player took all his equipment from a box inside a cabin. Thanks for helping and for being polite. Greets, Stephan -
Task module immediately sets itself to completed after assigned

So I'm finishing up a mission and the task modules have been a nightmare. I actually created this account to try and solve the problem. I have a chain of tasks which are all activated by trigger using :triggeractivated trg1 or which ever trigger it happens to be. What's happening is one of the tasks as soon as it's triggered pops up as assigned and then can't be found. When I check the task list it is marked as complete. There is no task completed message. The create task module is set to assigned just like the others, and like the others, the set task state module is set to completed. I have tried setting the create task to "created" and it works fine other than needing to manually assign the task. Im getting a headache trying to figure this out so any help I can get is appreciated- 6 replies
