Editing existing mission

Recommended Posts

How would I go about opening one of the existing warfare missions in the editor? A friend said I needed to extract the PBO, but I have tried several tools and none extract or even show any type of files in the pbo. I have tried other pbo files to confirm the extractor works.

If you extract a pbo you wont see some kind of window like winrar or zip... the depbo tools creates an folder in the same dir as the pbo with the extracted files.

You must copy this folder to Your_Name\Dokuments\ArmA2 Other Profiles\missions.

Now you can load the Warfare in the editor.

I tried that by copying the pbo file to the folder the extractor was in and no dice. I noticed that with other pbo files when I select the file it shows me the contents without extracting. with this particular file it does not.

Hi all, i've the same problem.

I extract a pbo, then i copy the folder with the extracted files in ..Documents\ArmA2 Other Profiles\missions.

As Tajin says you need a program like CPBO to un-pbo the mission file(pbo) to a mission folder!

CPBO can be found Here scroll down to arma tools!

Un-pbo then place mission folder into your 'missions' folder then open in editor!

I have tried that, but nothing. Someone earlier suggested that it might be locked so I'm gonna have to go with that theory. I really just wanted to do it to look at warfare and see how some of the stuff is done and learn from it. Seems pretty complex to me so that would be a good learning medium.

Same here, im using Vista 64 and have problems extracting the files to the folder as cpbo is suppose to do. When i right click the PBO files there is no options for extraction, however when i right click a folder there is an option to make PBO file. Dubble clicking the pbo files does nothing. I've been back and fouth in regedit to start clean, but i cant get it to work :/

Hmmmm... I've never tried to open it up in the Alt+E Editor but it works fine in the "original" Editor. If you've got it set up the way that is describe above you can open it up in this Editor.

cri74,

I've never been able to open .pbo's via cpbo, only create them. So to open them I use pboView:

It never fails me. Try this. I'm not sure why cpbo doesn't work for you and I. It's never worked for me and nobody has ever been able to provide any help as to how to fix it. Try right clicking on a folder to see if "create pbo" appears in the menu.

Hey thanks Manzilla ! Ill try that as soon as i get home from work :) Been trying to get that thingy to extract for some days now, and i thought it might be vista or sommet to do with restrictions and security in Vista so i really made a mess of some newly created folders and settings....... witch im no longer the owner of vista tells me. Yes, i am able to create PBO's and i get the option to do it when i rightclick a folder.

Thanks again, ill reply status when i've tried it
