royaltyinexile 175 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) You mean like when you'd be near an AI squad leader in a different group and you'd hear him say just "Move" or "Man"? That's exactly it, yes. We can't make any promises, but its being investigated alongside more critical program tasks. Good. Knowing this community I'll ask: There will be an option to disable it? Or to enable it only for AI? I don't think that's something we've looked at, no. Fixing the damn bug often results in a cascade of new feature (requests), though. :) people complain that it gives away their position and whatnot, but in ArmA (read: LARGE environments) it shouldn't be a big issue. Adding a little more of live on the AIs is always good. Currently the AI should already be able to detect you by what you say, and in stealth they shouldn't be able to hear you. Smurf 12 Posted July 25, 2013 (edited) You are aiming for something like Medal of Honor 2010 (didn't play the last one) where you can hear the radio with a little filter but when you are close enough you hear the actual char speaking much clearer and the radio? Or just one or another? Edited July 25, 2013 by Smurf
royaltyinexile 175 Posted July 25, 2013 you can hear the radio with a little filter but when you are close enough you hear the actual char speaking much clearer and the radio? You should already be able to hear these improvements after the latest beta patch. If you place yourself and a subordinate, and order him to stop, you should be able to hear the responses in 3D space by walking away/towards from him or walking around him. If you turn the radio volume off, the difference is most pronounced. That's something like a first step. Currently, it still doesn't work for other (friendly or enemy) groups. But it means we should be able to look at broadcast exclusion next, when we get the opportunity. Hopefully, the fix for friendly/enemy groups can follow, but the problem is fairly deep rooted, and requires some expert untangling. :) Best, RiE ---------- Post added at 10:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:16 PM ---------- Hm, probably Q&A thread not the best place to continue to provide updates about this.
