    DCS in Arma 3

I see! Very interesting and I problem I didn't knew before. Super sad. and what is about fixed airstrips and just desert in between? I mean I guess you all know the map south east Asia. Its by far the biggest terrain I'ver played so far. And I also played Sp Missions on it. They worked fine and interestingly its a map I have more fps than on any other map. Moreover the mission should be a plane only mission. No infantry or ground troops gameplay at all. Do you still think this would be undoable? I really would love something like that to happen and I would love nothing untried

    DCS in Arma 3

Hey thanks for the advice! I know that the map I needed would be different to those which you play as an infantry soldier. The prop count would be minimalistic, a desert would suit best for that I guess. Also the texture of the terrain would be more simplistic. But all of that doesn't matter anyway if you fly up on 1-5k meters. Have you ever tried "South East Asia" the map? Even with very high visibility I get over 100 fps steady. So it is possible, I am sure! I will definitely check out the mod you mentioned! Thanks a lot for contributing!
  3. Hello Everyone! I am bothered the last weeks with an idea but missing the skills and capacities to form it into reality. I know you heard that a lot of times here and I am indeed searching for people who are willing to bring this project to reality because they would love it to be in the game! As you could read already in the title I would love to have DCS in Arma 3. What does that mean? Well, ArmA delivers a good balance between Sim and casual concerning flight mechanics and since the jet dlc there is quite some potential. Unfortunately most ArmA maps, although already large, lack the seize of an air to air combat map. My idea involves the following: 1. Build a map which is big enough with at least two airports at opposite ends. (This is possible also with way beyond reasonable fps looking at maps like "south east Asia"; the importance, I guess, is to keep the prop count low, textures minimal, amongst other stuff) 2. Build a simple MP ready mission where people can fight each other on this map in planes, nothing else than this map as a mod needed, but of course welcomed to build upon this with mods and stuff! 3. Integrate a mission system so there is always something to do and out of these missions dog fights and so evolve. 4. Bring scripts in as view distance, Driving planes backwards, and rearming pylons to your likings. I know that I might not be the first one having the idea and I also know that most people would just say "learn it and do it". Nevertheless I thought asking doesn't cost anything and perhaps there are some of you out there who already have the skills and like the idea and we could make it come to life together. I mean, we could build a solid alternative for DCS with lesser focus on the simulation but the action without getting to casual, because I think Arma delivers it! And it would be free for all those who already own Arma! No new flight game needed, we basically have it within the game, no one woke it really up, yet! Also it would close the gap to Arm4 coming out 2044 a bit, delivering a new way to enjoy and experience the game. I am open for any suggestions, help, information or critics. Perhaps something like this is already in development and I haven't found it (South East Asia doe lacks the two airports at the end of the map and I tried to build them in the editor afterwards, which was not really working...). At least I wanted his idea to be out there in this amazing community, even if no-one is at first answering or interested. Thank you all and have a nice day!
  4. Hey Lukeocyte, I think for you "ALiVE" could be an interesting mod. I have a sample mission together with ace and tfar. Honestly ALiVE needs a little tweaking and it is by far not the simplest to set and use, but I think you can get a lot out of it. But what interests me the most about combat patrol: 1. it is official, I love officially supported thing. 2. it is simple and straight forward and you got a fast and quíck mission which is easy to set up and fulfill.
  5. The problem is, that the combat patrol module seems to teleport you and your group near to the AO. What we want would be a command or anything like that, which could disable the automated teleport and instead spawn you where you placed your units in the editor/ where you want them to spawn by script...
  6. I Think that is not what we are looking for. We are not searching for the right respawn position, but for the right starting position. perhaps I´m missing something, but nevertheless thx for the help attorney.
  7. That would also interest me. A starting base would be awesome. So you could also choose a better starting position by driving/flying into the AO. Besides that, it is way cooler to get somehow to the AO instead of only spawning near to it. Right now I have no idea on how to do this either... sry

HI pedeathtrian, thanks for the fast reply! But you would agree that landing the su is way more demanding than the a-10?! For me the autopilot crashed the plane too :-/ So is it a bug or a feature? ;) would you suggest reporting this behaviour or not? So I'll try it out again with all the tips you gave me. Ready for takeoff! cu I flew a couple of times now. when I'm landing the plane seems to bounce extremely back up in the air. a behaviour which the a-10 seems not to do.

Hello! First of all, I wanted to thank and gratulate the whole RHS Team for their outstanding update and their release on the steam workshop. Secondly, I had a little issue. I know there is a feedback tracker, but I'm not sure if it's me doing something wrong or if it is a bug. Therefore I would like to ask the people in this forum first if the same issue occurs for them too: Landing the su-25 for me seems really hard. I tried it at least 20 times and only 1 out of 10 was a good landing where I didn't crashed or nothing was broken. when I touch the ground sometimes it flips or it crashes on the ground like it would have no gear (gear was out!). Landing the A-10 seemed to be no problem at all. That's why I am assuming that it could potentially be a bug. I couldn't find anything in the feedback tracker by searching for "su-25". If this is a known issue I am sorry for molesting you guys! But we cannot repeat it enough: thank you for this great mod and outstanding work. I really appreciate it!

oh ok. I see... Didn't knew this. Always inspiring and cool to see the whole [ArmA] community work and come together from all over the world. Make ArmA not war!

Hi war_lord, thanks for the quick reply. Sad to hear that. Perhaps the stance will change eventually. ;) Keep up the good work!

Hi Toadie! First of all, I want to thank you for all the gorgeous mods you're making for the community. The amount of work must be horrendous! I don't know, if you answered this question already pages ago or somewhere else, but I couldn't find any statement of yours. Is the all in one mod going to be on the steam workshop? I know there are collections. In the end, the result will be the same, but it is much slicker and tidier to have everything "in one". I really love all of your mods, that's why I would be a great fan of having the all in one pack on steam. Also it seems that the downloads on steam run much faster than the ones from other sites; at least for me. Cheers.

Hello! Only came here to tell the RHS team that I really appreciate their hard work and all the effort they put into this beautiful and gorgeous mod! I know there were already a lot of people saying this, but I think you cannot thank enough for what they do for ArmA!
