  1. *Sight... read the whole main post before posting...
  2. Nope, steam is the way to go and it will only update to the latest version. But a clien't with 125548 can join a server with 125402 I believe, someone can correct this if they know for sure.
  3. Yeah thats whats so weird, I notice others are running this version so thought I'd check if anyone else is getting that error. All works fine with other patches etc, but with newer 1.63 I get that..
  4. Anyone else getting stuck on "wait for host" when trying to host and join a server running this latest Arma patch, and when exiting you get this in .rpt log: NetServer::finishDestroyPlayer(1021693620): DESTROY immediately after CREATE, both cancelled Latest beta patch is installed on both client and server Nothing happens at all when trying to join, works without problem with earlier versions of the Arma patch when ran from beta folder.. start up part of the .bat: start arma2oaserver.exe -mod=@DayZ;@Hive
  5. Might be... So at the moment we are stuck with the old 1.62 patches and hope that Gamespy doesn't go down right now until the patches are fixed. The reports I have been given was that the beta patch 1.63.124802 was working fine hosting on, so why not let us choose that patch until there's officially a stable version.
  6. But at least some of those worked to host servers with, and it's exactly that we need. To be able to go back to a version that at least worked and wait for a stable one. As it is no we are stuck with the latest one and if that one doesn't work we are screwed since we can't downgrade to a earlier version. Only 1.62 and that doesn't help much.
  7. At the moment there are allot of problems regarding the latest beta patches towards server hosters and modders. BIS need to make it possible for users to choose/downgrade beta versions in steam or something, cause this won't work. There is no point in having users stuck with one version (latest) they can't control. Updates through steam sure great easy way of distributing the patches and so, but not being able to choose patch version doesn't work. If only we could get the option to install any patch we want (like we used to be able to with the retail version), everything would be fine. We could stick to one version and support that one instead of being stuck with the newest version, which none of us can use. You can't even chose to opt out of updates, as Steam forces you to update if you want to start the game. Any when I says choose between patches I/we don't mean between 1.62 and 1.63, the option should be to choose between different 1.63 versions. How hard can it be just add the patch versions to the beta drop-down list.. Look through the posts in the recent beta patch threads and you will see that this is wanted/required by allot of the users. For example: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?179622-ARMA-2-OA-Beta-build-125402-Steam-Mp-Lobby-%281-63-build-Steam-only%29&p=2718873&viewfull=1#post2718873 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?179740-ARMA-2-OA-Beta-build-125548-Steam-Mp-Lobby-%281-63-build-Steam-only%29&p=2727459&viewfull=1#post2727459
  8. BIS doesn't seem to want to help out much or listen to the users requests and suggestions..
  9. This! ↑ This needs to get attention from BIS, explains the current situation very well. And please act on it! For starters give us the option to choose patch in steam!!!!
  10. Dwarden is it possible to get the option to downgrade beta patch versions in steam? To "older" 1.63 versions I mean so we are not forced to use the latest one, just have them added to the dropdown list.
  11. Please gives us the option to choose between different 1.63 patch versions.
  12. And when saying we want the option to choose beta patch it doesn't mean we want to be able to choose between latest and 1.62 patches. (noticed this had been added to the droplist on steam.) We want to be able to choose between different 1.63 patches
  13. There is still a need to be able to choose patch version otherwise the mess that is right now will continue. This latest patch breaks the game and without the option to choose beta we are now stuck and have to wait for a "fix".. If the option to choose beta exists we can easily downgrade and select the most stable beta until the new releases are tested and working, if you've been around the arma community a while U should know this. Allot of the beta versions are far from stable.. We are only talking about adding a dropdown list to the game on steam so we can choose.
  14. newer patches 1.63 uses steam ingame browser because of gamespy closing. This is a good thing, but they have to make it so users can choose beta patch version and not be stuck with 1..
