question about baking high poly mesh

can you bake your high poly mesh properly even if your model is made up of a bunch of seperate objects?

hey ive run into a bit of a problem trying to find half decent reference images, and so i ask where do you guys usually search for references, specs, etc.. as well as how exactly should i go about creating them from scratch if i cant find images that are good enough for what i need em for.

uhh i guess i answered ny own question after doing some more research.. it just bugged me i had like 7-8 diffused textures, ie: one 1024x1024 texture would have the diffused texture for the muzzle and another 1024x1024 image would have the diffused texture for the rails, another for the barrel, and so on... -

are you selecting more than one object? if so it wont work to just convert to poly i dont think, try attaching all the objects in the scene. -

ive run into the same problem, im slowly finding the info i need.. most of the tutorials and documentation i have heard about was hosted on ofpec.. since that site is down ive been using http://tactical.nekromantix.com/wiki/doku.php?id=start and they have alot of good info you should check out if you havent already, its helped me for more than a few different things... -

what i meant was, as my textures are currently, i have like one material for each part of the gun, with normal, diffused and specular maps and i want to just have one normal with the whole gun on it, instead of having materials i then need to apply to selections of the mesh... sorry if im not clear enough as im preatty tired after spending the past few hrs tryna get the hang of the workflow for arma.... but ofcourse buldozer doesnt wanna start for me now.. for idk what reason.. since the update its just not starting at all.. DevP seems to try to fix it but it has errors copying the files, so i guess i have to go through one by one and find wich files i need to copy over T_T -
was about to post the same thing.. T_T as i assumed, another error where windows itself is to blame... sigh...

hey is there any way i can combine multiple different textures into one sheet, so that i only have one diffused, one normal, one ambient occlusion texture etc to work with? by this i mean without re-uvmapping the model... -

object builder has had more than a few crashes for me lately.. really wish theyd release a plugin for maya or 3ds max, that could replace that POS -

extract pbo gives me less problems cause it works correctly, being a total noob i found it more confusing when to have to debinarize the files by hand afterwards T_T just get the script to add it to windows shell so you can right click - > extract the pbo.. although like i said i dont know much about arma editing yet (in the process of getting some models into O2 finally got past the brick wall that was installing the god damn tools) -
hi i get an error when starting buldozer, it appears that it cant open the renderworlds pbo from what i can tell from the logs. edit: no idea what i did to get it working, but now im getting missing halfa.paa error that others have had.... and im quite stuck T_T

yeah sorry i spent the past few days tryna figure this out... woulda deleted it if i had known... deleting all the contents of the a3 tools directory and restarting the entire process again worked though, i justed used ArmA3.cmd or whatever its called and all my files were coppied over correctly first try.. -

thankyou! was waitin on this for awhile, only other video tutorials for importing weapons or anything for that matter into arma 3 are basically non-existant (aside from your tut) hell i couldnt even get bulldozer working yet and my current work is now halted while i figure out how the hell to proceed :p -
