Looking for a simple way to rotate towards an object
SINE posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Hello guys and scripting aces. I have to admit, that even though I scripted for quite a while on all kinds of different scripting languages, I always hated doing 3D rotational mathematics. So in this case I can't accomplish 1 simple task, it is giving me headaches: How the heck do I turn an objects forward axis towards a 3D Position in ARMA 3? Say I have a player and I want him facing a very specific 3D Position when he triggers a script (Not the camera, but the object itself). There doesn't seem to be a function for that behaviour, so I was guessing that maybe some folks have an idea for this. Thanks for reading and have a great day -
Looking for a simple way to rotate towards an object
SINE replied to SINE's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. Here's the script, if anyone needs it. _rotation = [player, THE_OBJECT_I_WANT_TO_ROTATE_TO] call BIS_fnc_relativeDirTo; player setDir (getDir player)+_rotation; -
Is there a way to get an isolated list of the newly added item's (weapons, vehicles, ammunition) class names? We need it for our BattlEye configuration.

Hello dear Bohema Interactive and ARMA 3 Community Members! I have a question regarding the use of RCON. Is there any way of logging the RCON commands? F/e. who kicked someone, who changed settings or reset the mission? Thank you very much for your attention. Regards
-
Hello dear Users and Bohemia Interactive, we tried every way we could think of to find out the ID of specific objects that are on the Altis Map by standard (Specific walls, Street signs etc.) but we can't find a way to return the objects ID and therefore have no way to interact with those. Especially the following objects: Land_PipeWall_concretel_8m_F Land_BC_Basket_F Land_BC_Court_F When we run following script commands, every object we added by a custom mission - and some other objects that are on the map - will be returned successfully, BUT not the objects I listed before (if they were on the map by standard and not spawned in by a custom mission or script): nearEntities, nearestBuilding, nearestObject, nearestObjects, nearObjects I'll try to explain it again, in case you didn't understand what I mean: All those scripting commands don't work on many types of objects, including those I listed above. That is only the case, when the objects were on the map by default. If you add any object by yourself (if you edited the mission) then they WILL ALWAYS be found by the scripts. Is there any kind of solution available so we finally can interact with those "static" objects? Because it seems like very object has an ID, even bees and flies have IDs and can be interacted with. We're desperate about this for about 3 months now and it's very frustrating, thats why we decided to ask around on the forums. Thank you very much for reading.

Please help, looking for solution for a long time: Deleting objects that are static
SINE replied to SINE's topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
To post on the issue again, I have found a few map objects that do not have a vehicle class. They can be found if you check their ID through the debug-camera, though you can't f/e place them. Example: (The 30 maxspeed sign): signt_speedlimit30.p3d It doesn't have any class, the only script command, which I found being able to interact was setdamage. -
Once more a great day to give feedback to you guys. I've also seen your great youtube video - 33 facts about ARMA 3 (really nice job on that). I have found a little bug that could probably be easily fixed and would give a lot potential to scripted scenarios and would probably help our server: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=22608 Thanks for reading. Have a great day guys and gals!

Is there a way to log the Battleye RCON?
SINE replied to SINE's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Hello Torndeco, nice to see you here, as well! (by the way, the problem with extdb hasn't since returned, thank you very much for the time). 1) I'll probably do that, but I know from the past, that it's very unlikely to reach anything 2) A very good idea indeed, had that a few times but that'd probably require a lot of time that I do not have alone, if that'd be a project with others, I'd probably invest it. 3) Also, a very good idea but with a few limits (no access from outside/no "current players" list and/or no chat accessible from outside). -

SINE replied to SINE's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
RCON is a protocol, used by Battleye for ARMA 3. Theoretically, the RCON tools could implement logging client side, though I need it server-side to make sure it's correct an wasn't manipulated. -

Thanks for your answer. Sadly, the RPT doesn't log anything regarding the information I'm seeking. -

Hello dear Ladies and Gentlemen from Bohemia Interactive and Dear ARMA Community, on our server, (while it's very busy), sometimes, sporadically, the Maxping is being set to 10 and back up to the previous setting. Everyone is being kicked through changing the maxping that low and we don't know what is causing the issue. What could we possibly do about it? Regards http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=22430

Hello dear Ladies and Gentlemen from Bohemia Interactive and the Community of ARMA. I wish you a great day and weekend! This Feature Request is long asked for, even before ARMA 3 as far as I can remember: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=22421 Would it be anywhere close to considerable to add this functionality? I personally, and many other admins, players and scripters would be uber happy about it! Thanks so much for your time guys, you're really doing a great job with ARMA and the community (also thanks for reading my last ticket, i'm really excited the bug got fixed!).

IMPORTANT (affecting many people): Multiplayer - Sporadic player loading crash
SINE replied to SINE's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hello. Besides voting for the bugtracker record to get the problem fixed: yes. -
Hello dear Bohemia Interactive developers, supporters and general staff. Hello dear Arma Community. We have a server running for about 1 year, Since a few days, people joining our server sporadically have a game crash AFTER downloading the mission and WHILE "loading" the mission (after the download). The client simply "stops working" (windows message). We do not have any client side mods running on our server. This happens only to some of the people joining our server, not to all of them, which is why we don't know how to address the issue. Does anyone have any information on that topic. We think it's more likely to be client-side but are not entirely sure about it. Greetings Collected Information on the topic: RPT Log extracts: #1 #2 Bugtracker report: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=22273 Similar questions: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?187490-Mission-doesn-t-load

Hello Bohemia Interactive and dear Arma 3 Community members. There is a bug regarding some of the player animations, if they're being called through SQF-Code. http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=22346 How likely is this issue going to be addressed anywhere soon? Thanks for your time and please have a lot of fun and success with all your both current and future work.

SINE replied to SINE's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
One of our members is reporting that this can help solving the issue. In the start parameters of the game set the following setting: -malloc=system Eventually, the file "PhysX_x86.dll" inside the Arma3 installation directory can be deleted/renamed to address the issue. Also, it's recommended to delete the mission-cache which can be found under the path: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Arma 3\MPMissionsCache -
Since the last client update, many people report this issue on our server. This must be a bug of some kind, many people have a game-crash while loading, too. Related: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?187525

Deactivating the Eagle flying around the camera's area?
SINE posted a topic in ARMA 3 - ZEUS EDITING
Hello Dear Ladies and Gentlemen from BIInteractive and users of the forum, is it anyhow possible (f.e. by editing the mission, scripts or some other way) to deactivate the Zeus's eagle which always indicates where Zeus is currently looking at? Of course, an addon wouldn't be too good of a solution as we only offer a mission and don't want to force our players to download anything extra. Thanks in advance. -

Hello. I just noticed, that since the 22.08 there are no more log files created by our server. Is this caused by the recent update? The CFG didn't change and is set to the following as it was: What else could be the cause of this? Is there any other configuration where it's possible to set the path of the log file? Could breaking the process by killing it through a batch file be the problem? This wasn't a problem ever before.
