Had the same problem again last night, but I didn't realise till tonight. Checking the RPT it happened nearly 2 hrs before I logged off, so no save that far back to retrieve the mission. It happened again when I entered Therisa from the hill to the south east and then got very busy with contacts in the town, in this case 2 Strider GMGs in a back street near the church next to a burnt out Stomper. I then used one of the Strider GMGs to take the AAC Airfield. It was only when I got to Stavros when I realised that the churches weren't saving, no loot, invisible enemies, etc. EDIT: I went back and checked the saves and there was one autosave that had been kept from the day before from the first church before any contact, but it's almost like going back to the start of the mission.

TPW MODS: enhanced realism and immersion for Arma 3 SP.

Your screenshot shows that TPW _Settings is a JAR file but your PC is treating it as a text file. Do you have up to date Java installed?- 5767 replies

I finally got my Kamysh, after killing the infantry squad that got out of it and some AAF that got involved.
-
I love having AC on. If you don't it could be artillery firing at you but not being very accurate, especially if you are moving quickly.
-
I use TPW hud, but without the tactical glasses at the start, and detection range set from 75-300m instead of the default 50-500m. I love the garrisons. Once in the dark, I moved into a building for cover and gave it a quick onceover.A few minutes later I nearly shit my pants when I found that I was sharing the building with an enemy. He seemed just as surprised as me as I managed to kill him before he could one shot me. I have loot on normal, so lots of hats and stuff. I just started a new mission on very hard and failed to find any guns. I went to a small military compound but no loot there so I embarked on an assassination mission on a team leader armed with just a pistol. I found them garrisoned in a couple of buildings. Luckily I took out the auto rifleman first, then AT rifleman and another rifleman. My target surrendered for all the good it did him. I managed to get hold of a quad bike but very little fuel in it, so I have made my way to Zaros for the fuel station there. There were reports of fighting to the north east, so I went ahead on foot to see if the road ahead was clear. I found some Takistani troops in a UAZ. They called out a gunship and a Kamysh also responded. The Kamysh seemed to have got itself stuck. The gunship got shot down to the northeast, so I moved away from the Kamysh only for an unarmed Ifrit to pull up near the building where I had been, and troops got out of it. I have killed all of them, but I fear that the Ifrit and the bodies might be visible to the Kamysh. All I need to do now is deal with the Kamysh, so I can claim the Ifrit & loot, and then find out what is happening to the north east and who or what shot down the gunship. Could be some AA launchers on offer there. I have to go to central Altis to find the body, so they could come handy.

Kalochori can get a bit hot. Here is when I was on a previous visit ... captured a T100 and a Kamysh
-
I started another mission without mods purely for testing purposes you understand. After resuming the mission next day, the statistics were gone, so definitely an Arma bug.
-
Last time I hid behind a wall like that, the T100 knocked down the wall and killed me. In my last mission I killed a Tigris, but the T100 and the other Tigris fell foul of Arma Physx. I thought I was tackling a squad in Zaros. I killed one and shot at another. While I was reloading, they all surrendered. It turned out that they were the crewmen of the other vehicles which I later found upside down.
-
Since 1.58 I have noticed that the statistics from the map are missing when I resume the next day, but they are there as normal during the debriefing at the end of the mission. I didn't know if it was to do with the new difficulty settings, although I can't see a setting to alter it. Whatever, I think it's an Arma bug rather than anything to do with Pilgrimage. I haven't started a vanilla mission to check though.

Sorry Rydygier, but I've managed to break the main loop again. Found the body loaded it into my vehicle but I had lost the option to transfer it to another vehicle or to repair my vehicle. Enemies didn't spawn and when I got back to the boat, it was invisible, although at least I had the option to load the body into the boat and complete the mission. I have checked the RPT log and there are not many clues in there. These are the errors found if they are any help. 23:56:09 Error in expression <distToWater interpolate [-5.0001,-5,-1,1> 23:56:09 Error position: <distToWater interpolate [-5.0001,-5,-1,1> 23:56:09 Error Undefined variable in expression: disttowater 23:56:09 Error in expression <(distToWater interpolate [-10.0001,-10,-1> 23:56:09 Error position: <distToWater interpolate [-10.0001,-10,-1> 23:56:09 Error Undefined variable in expression: disttowater 23:56:09 Error in expression <distToWater interpolate [0.1,0.11,-1,1]> 23:56:09 Error position: <distToWater interpolate [0.1,0.11,-1,1]> 23:56:09 Error Undefined variable in expression: disttowater 0:05:06 Error in expression <distToWater interpolate [0.2,0.21,-1,1]> 0:05:06 Error position: <distToWater interpolate [0.2,0.21,-1,1]> 0:05:06 Error Undefined variable in expression: disttowater 0:06:05 Error in expression <distToWater interpolate [0.2,0.21,-1,1]> 0:06:05 Error position: <distToWater interpolate [0.2,0.21,-1,1]> 0:06:05 Error Undefined variable in expression: disttowater 0:20:52 Error in expression <t _ix; _tkn = false; { if ((_lootSpot distance _x) < 2) exitWith {_tkn = true}> 0:20:52 Error position: <distance _x) < 2) exitWith {_tkn = true}> 0:20:52 Error distance: Type Number, expected Array,Object,Location

You may find that Arma 3 has changed a bit when you update ... hopefully for the better

It's a good job that you've come clean, otherwise you could have been Dyson with death.

And then good news https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/184473-icebreakribis-lingor-for-a3/?p=3001183

There's probably an easier way I could have done this, but where's the fun in that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FIyoqE6Kak

The buzz I get from getting successfully out of a pickle like that can last for a couple of days afterwards. The stronghold afterwards was like a damp squib, but I wonder if the infantry from it had contributed towards my pickle. I love the gunships buzzing around and the ever present threat of getting blasted without even knowing about it. In my last Altis mission, both airfields were on the far side of the island so I didn't see a gunship until I attacked the second stronghold about 11 hours into the mission. I was ready and waiting for it. https://twitter.com/aky071/status/712821121649942533

It was interesting to see other peoples mission settings. These are my normal mission settings for Altis. I reduce them for smaller maps.
-
I started a new mission on Bornholm instead. It was made for A3 and doesn't rely on CUP so hopefully won't have the same problem. I hope so anyway. I've just spent three hours pinned down by a Marid with no AT. To make it worse I had just dumped my weapon in the vehicle to loot a sniper I had just killed when I heard it approaching. I didn't get the sniper rifle and couldn't get back to the vehicle so I was left with just a pistol and two mags as a squad poured out of the back of the Marid. As if that wasn't bad enough, some foot patrols and a couple of gunships joined in. Eventually I managed to get the AT off a dead body and deal with the Marid. There are still more enemies nearby and a stronghold 1.5k away, so plenty to look forward to.

That report doesn't give much to go on. The problem has to be something that Arma does when you exit the mission. Loading a save when in mission works fine, but if you exit Arma to go to bed (some people do you know) and go back the next day the same saves won't load. As for the maps themselves, there is a lot of redundant configs that isn't needed for Arma 3 and half finished stuff that maybe wasn't a problem for Arma 2, but with new commands in A3 sometimes they can have unforeseen consequence when using older stuff. I hope that one day CUP will sort all that out, but I doubt that it will happen soon. They have taken on a massive task.
-
No problem on Altis for me, just on maps that rely on CUP. For me it has been Lingor and Winter Chernarus. I've only tried Bornholm once with no problems, so I might give that another go. The invisible AI shouldn't be invisible. They should be there with all their murderous intent and trying fill me full of holes/blow me into tiny little bits in a fun sort of way. TPW Hud is just reporting that they are there like ghosts that no-one else can see.
-
My mods are listed above for a standard Altis Mission. Same for other maps with CUP terrains + other terrain added if necessary.
-
I checked the RPT files and there were no clues in there on either occasion. The first time was on the default Altis mission, but a mod was giving RPT spam. The RPT file was up to a million lines and 45MB in size. It started as I was entering or just outside Therisa whilst I was engaging a squad of infantry with an FV Mora not far away. I first noticed no civilians with any icons and only about 4 loot icons. The RPT spam I had been getting was for drawicon 3D, but all related to the mod rather than the mission that I could see. The second time was after I had updated the misbehaving mod and I was trying the version of the mission by a2012v, which is still on Altis. There were no errors in that RPT. I suspect it is something running in the background on my PC that is interrupting the CPU at a critical moment. Still I am pleased that a2012v hasn't removed all the tanks from his version. I found this one at a stronghold.
-
I have had the main mission code break in both of my last two missions, where loot stops spawning, no saves at churches, enemies and vehicles don't spawn, no civilians to talk to. I could wander into a stronghold find the captive and leave again. I could collide with the roadblocks, vehicles etc but not see them although TPW Hud would detect an enemy presence there. The first time it happened, I went too far before I realised, but the second time I was able to revert to an earlier save where the script wasn't broken and carry on without any problems. I think I had an issue with the body at the Rosalia Church before. I reached the same conclusion that it must be inside a building. I think this will continue to be a problem with maps that use A2 buildings, although the same can happen with the solar towers in A3. I will be interested to see your workaround for the CUP maps. I tried but it turned out to be a false lead.
-
Not sure I agree with that. I'm trying out your version of the mission and I am missing the escalation of force as the mission progresses and having to survive at the start of the mission when you encounter armour at an early stage. https://twitter.com/aky071/status/711007820502736896

Just collecting the body. One new thing I found out is that if you fly off the map boundary, the mission automatically fails, so watch out for that red line.
