Hi there. I noticed you added support for "Suonkomar Sahav," but this map no longer exists and has been updated as "Prei Khmaoch Luong" it is available on the steam workshop here. It has been vastly improved. -

The latest patch has caused a bug, I can no longer walk, with my main weapon raised or lowered the animation begins to play then stops, I've rolled back to 1.94. I can however walk with my pistol drawn and raised. This affects NPCs as well by the looks of it. I can't use the configuration tool either, it simply won't launch. I have updated Java but that didn't help.- 5767 replies

I'm having problems with the Skirmish module, since the new bootcamp patch. Friendlies keep shooting at me, they look like NATO, but they engage me on sight. One time I saw a Nato team leader leading an armed civilian and an Iranian AA. I've deleted everything, reinstalled, turned off other mods but I can't find the problem. This wasn't happening prior to the 1.24 patch. EDIT: Was editing the userconfig under @TPW_mods instead of the the one in the normal userconfig file, ugh, feel like an idiot. Great mod btw, nice to see another Brisbanite.- 5767 replies

Those who are having problems with the no sound bug, it's FHQ's mods that are responsible.

Well generally they would, but they might ignore posts that call their game, the only one of its kind, "a joke," because it doesn't meet the fantastical requirements that you set for it to exist in the genre which it arguably created.

No idea what's doing it, disabled mods, re-enabled mods one by one, they don't come back. VTS weapon resting, the TPW mods, Tao's folding map and so on, they don't reactivate after loading a game :\ -

Having a blast, but I when I load a saved game, it looks like my mods are not loading back in as well? Is this related to the same issue that's causing supports to disappear after load? -
Why are mission Devs so exclusive with they're missions and mods.

So they can ensure the quality of them, a lot of the complaints about performance are due to people porting missions from ARMA 2, or from Stratis to Altis with little-to-no optimization. This in-turn reflects badly on that mission, even if that version of the mission was never authorized by the original creator. The guys at a3wasteland.com seem confident they can sort out FPS problems with hard work, time and intelligent scripting, which is probably correct. But everyone has been releasing their missions whilst still in the "testing" phase and rushing to beat out other popular missions, as a result I have a server list full of buggy, barely working missions. This is not BIS' fault at all, I've been working on an MP mission since alpha and it won't be complete for months yet, so it makes me wonder how others are already into their fifth or sixth "release version." -

Just adding my voice to the chorus here, but we need to get rid of the A2 units, they cause issues and look sub-par. Obviously it causes issues with vehicles too, the mission creator has to fill those vehicles with Arma 3 infantry, any workaround to this would be great. Removing the A2 weapons is probably a good idea also, the Nato SF & Spetznaz weapon pack ports just about all the rifles and such as it is. Keep up the great work, this is a great project. As far as official BIS support goes, they are busy, I understand, but they mentioned AiA several times in their official guide, I think that if they are going to do that, helping fix some of the issues might be worthwhile down the track. -

I'm also finding that AI spawn at the center of the marker, there are some around the outside but a vast majority are spawning in the middle. EDIT: Played around to no avail, I upgraded my version and now it's effectively broken my mission. Anyone have any ideas on getting the AI to spawn within the marker area and not dead center? EDIT2: Still no luck, moving the marker away from the center of town seemed to help, but not much. Heavy patrols also don't seem to be patrolling at all, they move a little bit then stand around until they're shot at. -
I'm an environment artist by trade working on an island in my spare time and I can promise you I won't quit, as much as I was put off by the community when I first came here, I meet nothing but cool people when I'm playing. And I certainly won't be quitting a game because it's buggy and unoptimized before it has left beta.

The ARMA 3 Community Analysis, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Many of you bought this game for $30 when it was in Alpha, I spend about the same to get a pizza delivered with sides every couple of weeks, or when I'm at a party. Even if I was disappointed with this game now, I wouldn't demand a refund, because I've had far more enjoyment out of it than a pizza with sides. This has allowed access to the Alpha, Beta then full release of the game, which is soon, the game has still not been released. But all I see on these forums is whinging, I can't praise the game without someone telling me I'm wrong for doing so, all people on this forum seem to do is complain. It's quite clear that more than a few of you have no idea how the development process works, or seemingly fail to understand that the people on this forum are a minor portion of the community at large. I came from the Reddit community hoping to get involved with making islands and whatnot, but now I have absolutely no interest whatsoever and I can understand why other modders have recently abandoned ARMA as a modding platform. On Reddit, there is nowhere near the amount of whinging that there is on here, most of it is just sharing videos and notifying each other of cool new missions and mods. The main problem is many of you refuse to engage in discussion, when someone explains to you why x wasn't done in time for release, you ignore them or try to shoot them down. There are several people that have been trying to explain, for instance, why BIS will not simply port ARMA II content and why it is a bad idea to do so. Others take small issues and blow them up into huge issues that overshadow everything that BIS has done right with this title. The game is more polished than any of their previous titles, the physics are good, the controls are tight and the animations are so fantastic that I spend a lot of time in third-person. These are the issues that the community at large wanted BIS to focus on, cramming more features into an unpolished game is what they have done in the past and those titles were not large successes like ARMA 3 is shaping up to be. How can you help? Shoot down the negativity and encourage discussion, discussion means that sometimes you will have to admit when you're wrong, it's part of life and being a successful adult as well. When someone calmly comes in and explains that BIS aren't going to waste time introducing weapons and vehicles from the 20th century, maybe see the merit in their argument, rather than demanding BIS tailor the game to suit your specific tastes. Maybe recognize you're one of thousands, possibly millions that will be playing this game and BIS cannot just cater to you. I won't be returning to these forums or working on content for ARMA III, I hope others continue to do so and I respect that they are able to pursue their hobbies in the face of so much entitlement. I've tried to make this as polite as possible, it's likely it could be deleted, I just hope some of you see it first. Bye -
They've covered this though, what do they have to do to make you happy? Read my post above, did you seriously report me for telling you to stop panicking? When someone posts facts that you don't like, you freak out just like the others doing the same as you on this forum.

No it's not, they can create a new engine and run into the same problems. I'm a concept artist and environment artist, please read my posts, it's pretty obvious that one of us knows what we're talking about.

They have consistently supplied content free of charge, as well as paid DLCs, I see no reason why ARMA III will be any different, stop panicking.

But you guys are bitching about stuff they've acknowledged and are in the process of fixing, I suspect that at soon as the release is done we'll hear a bit more about what they have planned. You know what really gets you somewhere? Patience.

You have a very basic (at best) understanding of how game engines work. An engine takes longer to produce than the actual game, if you want BIS to throw away all their previous work then you're looking at a solid three years at least just spent on the core engine. Engines are designed to be added to and modified over time, I doubt BIS has the deep pockets required to spend three years developing something with very little to show at the end. It is no secret that game engines are prohibitively expensive to engineer.

A lot of you should take some time out to read that, it addresses a lot of the issues you all seem to have. If I were moderating this forum, I'd be turning all the threads into one whinging megathread so that those of us enjoying the game can give constructive feedback without having to filter through a million threads with no content or intelligent discussion. This thread isn't much better, especially with such a ranty OP.

I often wonder how far in life some of these people would get if they acted in the real world as they do on the internet. The other thing to keep in mind is that a lot of these people are not adults but teens.

Unfortunately when you have a bunch of players spread out across one map it's not that simple, especially when changes made to the terrain via this system have to be synced for all players.
