  1. Sorry man, had gotten a nasty cold, been out for a few days. I tried just applying the texture, along with the rvmat inside oxygen... Then exported it, got rid of the "hidden selections", put it in game and just gives me the "cannot load texture error" So I'm not sure what is up exactly... I may just export it from max again and attempt to start fresh. What I have currently... "works" but it could be much better if I can get the rvmats in properly.
  2. Alright no problem really... So you're basically saying then, you technically don't even need "hidden selections" within your model or anything for textures then. Just when you apply to the model inside oxygen it will read it automatically? I was thinking I tired that once and it wasn't working, unless I didn't apply them properly, then that is when I made the "camo" then hidden selection which worked for that. I'll mess around a little bit with it and such and will figure it out. Consider the matter still unsolved until I post otherwise, if you wish to explain more in detail tomorrow, please do and I'll take a look. Thanks.
  3. Picture makes it make a little more sense now... Though you say a Mat is applied just like a texture, which the texture is applied to the model in the config.cpp as seen above with this string; hiddenSelections[] = {"camo"}; hiddenSelectionsTextures[] = {"\DS_Campaign_Hat\data\DI_Hat_d"};
  4. Right, that's all done, what I mean is how to get the rvmat material inside the game, as in how to have the engine read "Oh there's an RVMAT file, let me read it." then apply it to the mesh, within game.
  5. Try .paa format, regardless any of them should work... Though I use the exact same init string on my missions except I have the flag in paa format. No problems at all.
  6. I figured as much, which I managed to create one and such... Though just the difficult thing that I seem to be having an issue with is a configuration for it... I'm not sure if it goes inside the regular .cpp file or do I need a completely separate config for it, not to mention the structure for it as I'm no coder by a long shot.
  7. setflag texture should work.... example. this setFlagTexture "data\flagpatch.paa"; May possibly be because it's saved as a jpeg file too, unless you can see it yourself? Otherwise, I'm not sure, though try the above string mention

  10. Thanks, planning on adding the shadow LOD, getting the configs to read the normal and spec maps as well. (When I figure those out.) Been making 3D models for sometime, though completely new to making addons and such for arma. Same modeling technique used, just coding and everything in between is the confusing part. About the "blue ring" The blue ring means the wearer is part of an infantry MOS. Non-infantry MOS wears the gold badge. Which will be added in as well, this was made for the unit we have established. An infantry unit, hence the "blue ring", though I've decided to expand a bit. I'm planning on adding Marine and Air force to the pack as well. Over sometime, I may even do an actual drill sergeant uniform.
  11. Hey all, Alright, so I've searched and searched and searched... Yes, I found the arma character example files and what not as well... I've seen some "tutorials" wouldn't even really call them a tutorial as they really don't explain much of anything other than... "You import to oxygen then export" Pffft... That tells me the obvious. Anyways I modeled a drill instructor hat, everything is to scale and what have you... I've exported it from 3Ds max and yes, it is rigged in 3Ds max, and now in oxygen. Now, this is where I'm getting hung up on. I've added in the LODs, shadowing, etc wthin Oxygen on the side windows (Not really sure what you call them.) Added a "head", view pilot, etc... Problem is, when I import it into ARMA, it's doesn't attach to the head, instead it's hovering over the ground, between the legs. Anyone have anything?

  15. Yes. Right click on arma 3 in steam. Properties > Betas (tab) Opt in devbuild, reverse the process to return to stable build.
  16. Gaming industry is screwed I do believe... This new generation and such, the DLC and such. I remember back in the day, there were no DLC, it was expansions, which added more content, more than just three maps and two weapons. It is sad to see, where the gaming industry had went nowadays. Seem to take the lazy way on everything. They did the same with BF3, more than likely the same with BF4 and so on. The only producer that has yet to disappoint me is Rockstar. Let's hope GTA V lives up to it's word.

  18. Is there a technique to get the radios and what not, without the actual box? For example, on our training map... We have the ACRE box and what not, easily allows you to select the radio. However, on our public server, we would like to allow randoms to join us too. Though us, use ACRE as a team, though those without it to play with us too... I know when you add the radio box, it adds an item within the map... Thus kicking anyone out, who doesn't have ACRE installed, is there a work around for this? Either reply or send me a PM if you know, thanks.
  19. Alright dudes; I'm looking to try to mod up the current targets that are out there to rise on command.... Sorta like you have a control point and you're able to have either a row or individual targets rise up on control at various ranges... I recently just got into coding, which seems pretty straight forward... Just not really sure how to go about something like the targets... Or if it's even entirely possible? Or something like, shoot them they stay down... Then you have a control to reset them. Thanks.
  20. Still searching for a group... Looking for something more along the lines of realistic military... Full ranking structure, MOSes, so on and so forth... Prefer a group that uses ARCE for coms... Also looking for a group that learns more towards PvP rather than AI... AI can be fine to mess around and what not... Though I want true skill, not some player vs computer...     That is the issue with that hacker, you can read more about it on the forums somewhere... But yea, alot of the public servers are infected because of this... Apparently a patch coming next week to fix it.
  22. Looking for a military role-play/realism group... Not necessarily (Yes sir/No sir) bullshit, I will NOT feed your ego. (Don't take it personal, I RARELY call anyone sir or ma'am.) I am a 25 year old dude, who lives on the east coast. My idea of a group should have; Mature people (Prefer adults), Ranks, use team-speak along with ACRE, has a CoC and doesn't take six plus months to just finish basic training. I am not looking for a free rank hand out or anything like that... However I do have a life too... I am "911" Firefighter/EMT and I am sometimes called at a moments notice, held over shift, so on and so forth... Potential groups, need to respect that... I will NOT set emergencies aside to just cater for your needs. If anyone is interested hit me up in private message with your information and I'll get back with you! Thanks.
  23. I'm interested in a group like this... "Hardcore military roleplay" all from Basic training to a variety of ranks... Both, on base and combat, as well as on going training, as a platoon, unit, etc. Not just initially basic training and so be it... If anything like this out there exists, let me know... Pretty new to ARMA but loving it so far... ARMA 3 only.
