Arma 3 extended weapons and units list taken from the Alpha
trent replied to trent's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Most are listed and were obtained from preview media. The list up top is from unit names left in the Alpha files and is more complete (like the new shotguns). I can upload the bin files for each group as they're only a few hundred kilobytes if other people want to go through them. -
I extracted a semi-complete units list from the Alpha: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?151253-Arma-3-extended-weapons-and-units-list-taken-from-the-Alpha&p=2350489#post2350489

The Ka-60 in real life has retractable landing gear. http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/ka60-kasatka-helicopter/ Will this be fixed for the final release? The devs said that having far fewer units than Arma 2 would allow for greater detailed units.
-
I can't find any info on a change in landing gear. Every source says it's retractable.
-
It's more about hiding the muzzle flash. Especially at night which is when most spec ops missions will take place.
-
Did the same, but I think the scale is off. The Abrams looks a little small.

ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
trent replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
1. Any main battle tank 2. Any fighter jet -
? Devs stated multiple times that the game will use the TOH flight model and that it would not be implemented in the Alpha.
-
It's a placeholder. None of the complaints or proposed changes will really be applicable until we see how the TOH version performs.
-
Also noticed the increased recoil. Considering that right now the Ultimax has the recoil of a .22 and fires 5.56 you'd think there'd be more mitigating systems in the future. Noticed the underwater gun is 5.56 despite being copied from a 7.62mm gun.
-
Any chance of adding OPFOR units that come with Tavors and BLUFORs with M14s? Far as I can tell no unit comes with those guns as default.
-
Does someone want to screencap and document the units available in the alpha sans any kit customistation like people did for the Arma 2 wikis? http://www.armatechsquad.com/ArmA2Class151656165165341654165165165165f/A2/vehicles/Wheeled/#document
-
I would if I had the Alpha. Time I have plenty of, money not so much.
-
What about the new animation system? Or are we stuck with Arma2's horrendous stumbling movement?
-
You may have wanted to phrase your press release around the statement "Pre-order the game for only 25EUR, get free alpha and beta access". Right now it reads like "Pay 25EUR for an Alpha build, and we'll throw in the full game later" and many people are missing out reading the latter part.
-
Would have put down money if we got a physical copy of the full game later. Digital copy - not even close.

Sony drew up a list of PS4 devs that left out the studios they'd only had talks with and kept the hard confirms. Sony EU confirms the new list is correct. http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/25/sony-completely-revises-list-of-ps4-eu-studios-down-from-53-to/ BIS is still on the confirmed list.

I'm surprised people are focusing on the steam part and not the announcement that the project is so in trouble they had to take stock of what they had done. When was the last time a game with development problems turned out well?
-
It was kinda well-known A3 has been in development hell. Or did people sincerely think the news blackouts and slipped milestone dates meant things were going swimmingly? The Limnos debacle only accounts for so much, and probably less than most of you are thinking. Hope this struggle to reach a deadline doesn't mean it's another buggy mess. That already killed Carrier Command for me.
-
So long as I can buy a DVD copy that has the game data on it, I don't care if it has to be run through steam. But I will not buy a digital-only copy.

World War 3 Online - In development by Studio Eleven Bravo
trent replied to MikeyB's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Sorry but a trailer composed of cut and pasted historical footage and some untextured renders of a tank model gives the distinct impression that this is one of those fan games that is "aspirational, not operational". -
http://www.businessinsider.com/irans-new-indigenous-fighter-qaher-313-david-cenciotti-2013-2 Honestly I wasn't even sure it wasn't just a model until I saw footage of it flying. Some interesting features from purely an aesthetic view, like the engine inlets being above the midline instead of the traditional below. Hope the Arma 3 team takes notes.
-
Apparently it's subsonic. And I can't see any internal weapons bays so all the "stealth" tech appears to be of the go faster stripes and racing fins persuasion.
-
Least they could do is replace the untextured render shots with textured ones.
