  1. Hi community! As you may have seen from our announcement, we have today published the Bohemia Incubator beta version of Arma 3 Apex: Old Man to Steam Workshop. We've taken a bit of a different approach due to the nature of this experimental singleplayer open-world scenario. Anyone on Arma 3's main branch can subscribe to the item for free, however you will need to own Arma 3 Apex, since the scenario takes places on Tanoa. During the coming weeks we will be eagerly reading your feedback and evaluating whether we can add Old Man to the vanilla platform in 2020. The data is distributed under the APL-SA license, so that community developers can explore and possibly extend it for their own creations. This also means we will not be using encrypted EBO files now or later. Note that some of the extra platform additions, such as the static M2 .50 MG, will quite likely be added in Arma 3 update 1.98 regardless. Check out the full announcement for all the details! How to play the scenario? Subscribe to the Workshop item. Wait for your Steam client to download and install the data. Start the Arma 3 official Launcher (using main branch). Visit the MODS tab. Load Arma 3 Apex: Old Man (Beta). Press PLAY to launch the game. In the game's main menu, go to SINGLEPLAYER > SCENARIOS. Select Old Man and press PLAY. Known issues? This beta version is still a work-in-progress, so please consider whether you want to jump in now or rather wait for a later version. When we inevitably update the beta with fixes, older (mid-scenario) saves may no longer load. Unfortunately there is no way around this. Consider making a local back-up copy of the 'mod' files in order to finish a play-through (more details here) ⚠️ While we've set up the data for eventual later integration into the platform, note that some details may have to change. We don't recommend to base your own content or mods on specific class names or file paths yet for example. Most of Old Man is not yet localized, although we do have translations in progress. Firstly, thank you all for the feedback, for the positive and even for the negative We've already been able to fix several issues you've reported, and we're also actually working on some of the suggestions you've provided! We're going to soon update the Old Man beta scenario on Steam Workshop. However there's one little annoying, yet necessary topic related to that. You'll most likely loose your progress. This is due to the single-scenario nature of Old Man's open design. It's why we're doing rather infrequent, but larger, updates. Before the new upcoming update is released, you might consider backing up the current version and also your saves, in order to finish a current play-through. Unfortunately Steam Workshop does not itself support a revision history. The addons are stored here: "\Your Steam library\steamapps\common\Arma 3\!Workshop\@Arma 3 Apex- Old Man (Beta)" (This folder can be found from the Launcher > MODS > Arma 3 Apex: Old Man (Beta) > ... > Open folder in Windows Explorer) Your saves should be stored here (usually in Documents): "\Your Arma 3 profile\Saved\a3\Missions_F_Oldman" It's strongly not recommended to use the old saves with any newer version of the scenario, even if they seem to load. The resulting behavior is unknown and you may experience unwanted issues ⚠️ Thanks for your patience and stay tuned for further updates!

There are also two official servers where you can join: 85.190.155.162 (EU) 85.190.157.210 (US West) Also you can filter them in the server browser: server: official type:TDM FEATURES competitive Team Death Match 30 more players (depends on the scenario) oriented on the cooperation and the combined arms permadeath as default persistent ranking easy to setup new users scenarios RULES There's a device paradropped on a random spot on the map its precise location is gradually revealed as the package gets closer to the ground To win: one of three (or two) opposing teams needs to pick up the device, and return it to their base within a certain time limit. or team also wins when they've eliminated the other teams in combat or when they have the highest score at the end of the match Feel free to play and post your feedback here!
  4. Thanks for reporting the bugs! We are preparing the hotfix now. Some of the fixes and improvements are already on the dev branch. In short, there're Players invulnerable during the briefing time Global chat disabled (it only works in the lobby) The vote-for-kick threshold has been decreased on all servers Bug related to player being able to control his soldier while in the spectator has been fixed Sorry, I didn't fully get it. What do you mean?
  5. Sure I can Unfortunately you are right. The interface is displayed, but you cannot create a group. Internally it is fixed. The fix will be released soon as part of the hotfix. We wanted players to watch the session. In spectator, there's also timer showing the progress of the session. We know about some bug, but feel free to post it, it will be helpful. Not sure about it. It might bring another problems (i.e. in combination with Dynamic Groups) Not a bad idea, but I am not sure, right now, about the technical implementation. Will think about it ;) We already made Vanguard Stratis and it might be released later. We haven't added these because of the balance issues. But they might be added later if we are able to properly balance the scenarios .

  7. Marid is APC, you are right, but it is just a "bigger" offroad. It is very weak in comparison to Marshall. We're working on it. That's right, working on it. There's the rotation between Syrta and Chapoi. Tanoa is separated due to the licensing (if it was together in one, people not having Apex would be kicked out)
  8. Hi there! We've released the Altis Requiem mini-campaign and the Showcase Tank Destroyers to the dev-branch. ALTIS REQUIEM mini-campaign including 3 missions parallel story to the East Wind campaign player commands the new AWC Nyx and later the T-140 Angara Main Battle Tank against much powerful enemy different endings based on playstyle and performance SHOWCASE TANK DESTROYERS play as a NATO crewman on board the new Rhino MGS UP use its similar firepower to a Main Battle Tank (120mm cannon, top-down laser guided missiles, etc.) utilize its agility and speed against various type of enemy, but keep in mind its vulnerability Feel free to play and post your feedback here!

  10. Weird. If you used Internet tab and filtered Team Death Match, do you see them?

  12. Hi there What server you were connected to? Was it the official one or a custom scenario? Can you explain the situation a little bit more please? By "everybody dead", do you mean you were in the spectator mode? How did you recognize everybody were dead?

    I think I got it ;). I was speaking about the issues the guys actually have. Now it should be solved for everyone. Namely for @_Que_ and "tavarišč" Stalin ;)

    There was an issue with BattleEye after the release. The issue was not on our side and should be already solved. Try it again pls and let me know. (You don't need to reinstall anything, just try again).
  16. Vanguard MP test: I apologize for the issues. There's a bug in the exe causing us to be kicked out from the server. It will take a time to find the problem and fix it. The session has been canceled. Sorry.
  17. We will be performing another Vanguard MP Dev test tomorrow 22.03. at 14:30 (13:30 UTC). Again we will be using the Official Public EU server (85.190.155.162). Join us if you want! ;) We have improved a lot of stuff since the last time. We would like to know your opinion on: Leadership, Revive, Dynamic Groups, Spectator and overall gameplay.

  24. Hello, try to update using the Steam client. There might be some inconsistencies in data. That could be the reason why it kicks you off. Btw, I cannot get the rpt, can you send it as an attachment?
