  1. Anyone know of or is working on a small, light Russian/Soviet chopper, like the Mi-34, Ka-226, Kazan Ansat? Also, is there a Ka-60 with a Russian paintjob instead of the PMC one? There's a ridiculous multitude of BH reskins, but complete lack of Russian choppers. :(
  2. Used your way of a work-around by putting a repeatable trigger on the map, it works now, thanks! Hopefully the pilot AI will be better in A3 cause those stupid pilots keep crashing into Takistan's mountains just when I think they'd cleared them. :(
  3. I don't know if this came up previously in the thread and I apologize for not going through all 18 pages for it. I have exactly 3 hours per day off and every minute is precious. Anyway, I noticed that at one point in mission creating this script simply stops working. I love it, it's excellent. While it works. It may have something to do with there being too many objects put into the editor that disable it or too many other scripts, I don't know. BUT I do know that from a certain point in mission building on I no longer get the "call extraction" option in my scroll menu. Has anyone else noticed this and is there a way to fix it without deleting all the stuff I put in? Thanks!

  5. That I will, but I would like to know what the class name or side name or whatever of these new units is. For example, the vanilla Russians are RU, Brits are BAF, USMC is USMC and so on.

I'm trying to modify an existing mp mission that was made for a West unit to be played with these units (not modifying it for public use, but just for my own personal single-player use), desert units actually. In that mission's scripting the author refers to the units (side?) used as BIS_US. Is it enough if I rename the player's side into into "RU" or do these units have a special, new side? I've been using RU, but have been encountering bugs (like enemy air patrols attacking their own side, my vehicles not respawning, my death timer not working, etc.). Thanks!
  8. Hi! How do I add other mods to LEA, mods that aren't already in the "mod manager" section? For example, I wanna play with ACEX_PLA weapons, but they're not accessible with the ACE version stock with LEA. Thanks.

    To make it clearer, since I've never dealt with these mods before: I should get an old version of the Namalsk Island? Or of the Stalker mod? Or is there maybe just an old bloodsucker file out there somewhere that I could get without taking down a whole mod (slow connection)? How far back are we talking here? Do you perhaps have a direct DL link of the old version of Namalsk if that's the thing I need? If it's the Island I need I would be really grateful for a direct DL link because the author's website is a freaking labyrinth if you're there for the first time. Thanks!

    S.t.a.l.k.e.r. mod

    Hi! I would like to play this mod, but as soon as I start it, all the characters look like this. I've got all the requirements, so don't have a clue what's wrong. Dl-ed the mod with Six. I have no idea why this is like this, but it's only with this mod enabled. Any ideas how to fix it? EDIT: also, as I have just found out, it removed the unit type "man" from the game. For example, trying to run the editor, I have no personnel/infantry/people options for any side. And when I try to preview the mission anyway, as a vehicle driver, I get loads of errors and am thrown back into editor.
  11. I've got a very basic question: how to create scripts and how to use them in a multiplayer mission I'm not hosting. Okay, so that's two questions. For example, I've been given the script line for the dance animation, but have no clue how to use it. Further example of what I want to know how to use (BIS_fnc_customGPSvideo and BIS_fnc_customGPS) is here: (of course I want to use my own video and song and not this one) Please help!
  12. We've got so many remakes and reskins of various Western choppers, especially Blackhawks (yawn), but very few East choppers. And those we do have are huge, not good for covert/spec-ops insertions of small units (West has the Littlebird for this task). Since BIS failed to deliver on this account, it would be great if someone put smaller Russian/Soviet choppers in the game, for example the Mi-34.

    ACE for OA 1.13

    I've got a couple of questions about the choppers and their armaments. Wildcat: whenever I use the laser designator when I'm sitting in the gunner seat and lase a target, then fire rockets, they go every direction possible, just not at the target. Is it bugged or am I not using it correctly? I searched, but couldn't find any tutorial on how to use Wildcats in ACE. Venom: what use is the laser designator that is accessible by the Observer in a Venom? Is it to lase targets for the GBU-armed aircraft? Is there a reliable way to (manually if no other way) set the door-miniguns to fire where the pilot's [rockets'] reticle is pointing at?

    IIRC there are Vanilla versions of Patrol Operations (on this forum) that are pretty interesting, with very varied tasks. There are a LOT of MP missions everywhere, but I think the most played (easiest to find a server with players) are Domination and Insurgency. Though, if you want to provide your father with an alternative to Project Reality (assuming he's a fan of realism), then ACE and ACRE and their missions would be a better idea.
  16. If I understand this correctly and we're talking about the second mission of the campaign, right after taking Morton, there were two US tanks: M1 Abrams and M-60 Patton. Further forces were an M113 and 3 squads of infantry. On the enemy side were (IIRC) 2 T-80's and several squads of infantry. Also I think a lone T-72 at the start of the mission. In my million playthroughs the M113 always got destroyed right after coming across the hill, with M-60 many times as well (either that or just disabled) and only very few times did Abrams manage to escape without a scratch. - Idea: maybe you guys could just remove the second MG's ammo from US tanks, dumb down their AI, etc. without adding units that weren't there in the original?
  17. Seconding this (one more reason to hate CM). Rivalled the original for the title of fav campaign. Shame BIS didn't do a modern Red Hammer for Operation Arrowhead instead of filling us with [unneeded] units that aren't used much after their campaigns anyway. Would be more worth my 10 euro than either BAF, PMC or ACR. Probably wouldn't fly though because of politics and propaganda. :(
  18. When I start server browser I get the following error: "Error receiving server list! Please check your internet connection, firewall, etc. and try later!" All nice and dandy, but I get that error while I'm connected to the internet and after I have ordered my firewall to allow glist.exe and the launcher exe access to the internet. What am I doing wrong?
  19. I'm thinking of getting back into creating missions after 10 years away (last time doing that was for original Opf) and I have a recon mission in mind. But the question is, how do I make it so that the player's view being directed at the target for more than 2 seconds count as a task accomplished? Thanks

    This is my first post on this forum after having been away from modding a long time, even though I still replay the original Opf at least once a year. The last time I did any mission creating of my own was namely 2001-2003 for my own pleasure, so I'm totally out of practice to do it myself. I'm searching for/requesting helicopter recon and (not so urgent) transport-into-hot-zones missions, preferably in the not-pbo file condition (I've downloaded a lot of mods that I wish to finally use, that's my only reason). Anyway, I searched for helicopter missions on armaholic and, as said I've been away a long time (the last time I looked for stuff like that armaholic didn't even exist yet and the most popular site was ofp.gamepark.cz so I quickly get lost in the offerings (sub and sub-sub folders within mission folder on that site would've been great), but all that I found were missions for attack choppers. I'm also looking for a OA campaign that puts you into the OPFOR's shoes. I loved Red Hammer for Opf because of it's new and fresh approach. Thanks
