changes made to config files dont appear in game....

allright, now that i know how to mod, i have decided to do some testing. my victims were m14 and m1911 (fav gun and fav pistol), and they will be tested in sp dayz. so, i increased dmr mag size to 30, reduced audible range to 4 (it used to be 18), and increase raw damage to 20 for 762x51. i increased mag cap. for m1911 to 14, and also reduced audible range and increased damage slightly (according to the config, the m1911 also has 18 audible range?!!!). heres the report -the dmr mag size was increased to 30 in game -the audible range has not changed. the gun is still a dinnerbell. fired of near a village, all the zeds aggroed at me. -not sure about damage, since i have not encountered any surviviors/bandits (yup, sp has that), and zeds are allways 1H-K -the mag cap for m1911 has not changed, its still 7 -not sure about the audible range and damage still -afterwards, i increased dmr cap to 60, just for the sake of it. odly, the mag cap has changed back to 20. so i think that i changed the numbers a bit too much. but even if that is true, how do i know the limit? -

where are the config files for ammo and magazine?

i know that config.bin for weapons are in the weapons.pbo files, but what about ammo and magazines? the tutorial about editing them does not mention anything, and i didnt fine any info while searching. EDIT: NVM MASS CONFUS. delete post please. -

well, ive got lots of things to say to people who replied to me, especially the guy who said "why should croatian units be better", but i dont want to get banned for being a hardass. lets just continue on the disscution about the mod. other than that, what is the current version of the mod? -

heres a post i made in the addon request page: ive been playing the game, and i prefered playing the country that represents croatia the most: US. but its not enough. ima sort my request for Croatia by priority: 1). The faction itself. Name the faction whatever you want it, but simply make sure its in the BLUFOR- it is in N.A.T.O., in case you didnt know 2). M95 Degman. This Croatian tank is gonna destroy the worlds "top 10 best tanks in world hurr durr" lists. Its in prototype stage, and its allready the 3rd best tank in the world. Once scientists and engies do all the thing the plan to do with it, it will unqestionably be the worlds most powerfull tank. find all the info you need about it on its wiki page. anyway, just to give you and idea, its faster and more manuverable than m1a2. its got better armor, stronger cannon, faster rate of fire, generally smaller (but slightly longer), much bigger operational range, and more. 3). The troops. Well, you can find pics of Croat soldiers, and model the troops after them, but make shure that they have sunglasess! all croat soldiers have sunglasess! wouldnt be suprised to hear that oakleys are sponsored by A.F.R.C. (armed forces of the republic of croatia) 4.)Patria AMW. IFV, APC, and AA variant would be nice 5.) VHS assault rifle. just as m95 degman, its still in proto-stage, but it will probably be one of the worlds best assault rifles ever made 6.) The rest of the info can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Croatia if someone would do this, i would be very very happy. would this be possible, after you finish this mod? anyway, this will take lots of work, even though VHS does use NATO rounds, its still an unique gun. anyway, generally make the units more powerfull than others, but dont turn them into deathstars. -

im sorry, but i cant find anything. i used the search function but all i get is useless results that dont have anthing to do with my question. where do i put the config file? how do i name it? so i need to use notepad and binpbo..... how? what should i write in the file? im sorry, but im a total noob at this, and i need a link to the tutorial. ive read many, but they dont seem to answer my question. please? again, im a total noob at this. -

first of all, im a noob at this the tutorials keep saying stuff about a file called "config.bin", thats the file we need to edit. but, i cant find this file. i used the windows search option, and the file does not exsist. i searched all over my arma 2 folder, and its not there. "CfgAmmo, cfgMagazines, cfgWeapons and cfgVehicles are root classes defined in the engine's config.bin." wat? -

im sorry, but i didnt know where else to ask this. basicly, i want to slightly improve various stats of mi-24v, and also slightly improve its weapons. bah, who am i kidding? scratch that, i want to turn it into a death star. i am aware that i wont be able to play multiplayer like this, so i will simply include a backup file for multiplayer (and backup in general). but first tell me if i will have to pay for any of the tools. then i probably wont do it -
