    A vacation on Altis - or - To Limnos and back again.

    Awesome pictures , its remarkable how much work has been done by BI on the map . Also I wanted to point out on the picture where Mirina(ingame Kavala) is shown from the top of the mountain where the antenna is , the shadow on the horizon to the left is the island Agios Efstratios(ingame Stratis)...... max view distance! :D

    AI in AAA Vehicles (And AAA in General)

    There is also the thing that once the AAA shoots a missile the helo will deploy flares and it will ALWAYS miss , so to hit the target the AAA will need to fire an other one soon after the first one or risk missing again by the second flare deployment of the helo. So the situation we have now is 2 missiles per chopper or 2 choppers per AAA since they have 4 of them and granted that the helo didn't spot the AAA first and even then its is not sure that the AAA will survive. Also the 30mm gun on the AAA is very weak on helicopters(at least) , just imagine what will happen IRL if an A-10 fired on a chopper with its cannon , my guess is that i would be torn to pieces or cut in half and really fast , in game i have seen choppers being fired upon by AAA while facing away , only to see them turn back to shoot a missile at the AAA and be done with it..... :confused: One can say that the AAA and A-10 doesn't have the same gun which is true but they are of the same caliber and i believe that they would do the same damage on a chopper more or less. My point is that even if it wasn't the AI fault , the situation would be the same with the problems above. The AAA now are anything but AAA , an APC can fit the role of an AAA just as well ... if not better.:D For the AI aspect i would suggest enlargement of detection range only for air vehicles.

    I am not aware of any body armor able to protect from something even close to an antimaterial rifle , a center of mass hit by these rifles means instant death and decapitation for the target. I would also like to note that the pass through/clean of a bullet is a myth , even if the bullet doesn't hit any vitals the exit wound is much much bigger that the entry wound and results in much more damage and blood loss .

    Brakes on the Pickup, terrible

    When you can smash a car into a tank at 270 Km/h , get out , patch yourself up, repair the vehicle (engineer) , get back in and leave what would you expect ? (realism as always) :D , anyway i support your opinion but its not only the brakes :)
  5. WW 2 planes with one engine had this sort of tilting because of the engine torque with the propeller which jets clearly lack.

    What i would like to see is better driving skills for the ai , i know it has been improved but still it isn't good , it sometimes just ignores objects in their path be it man , vehicle or rock . They should add something like collision awareness , it should be made to avoid any unnecessary collision and maintain a safe distance from objects . It is just immersion breaking to see an apc ramming down every sign , fence or whatever in their way just to get around a block in safe mode. That also happens with helicopters , if you place 2 or 3 helicopters (not grouped) in a line about 5 to 10 meters apart and you give them a move waypoint about 10 Km away in the direction of the line , provided that they will take off simultaneously they will almost always collide in midair or at least fly so close that the front helicopter's tail rotor is about a meter away from the cockpit glass of the rear one and with the ai pilot keeping cool being that close while flying at 200 Km/h . Just ridiculous :D

    Altis: Criticism and Suggestions

    Overall a very very good map. Some suggestions : add underground/bunker complexes or some underwater caves or underwater sub pens , make all buildings enterable or at least the big ones , merge altis and stratis into one map sahrani rahmadi style (perfect for jets) , optimisation for some much needed fps , IMO maybe a little less futuristic stuff cause the domes and the solar park towers feel a little weird to the eye but that's just me , also add some interior items to buildings (machinery for factories , furnitures for houses and the like). That's all i can think of right now.

    Altis - Info & Discussion

    I believe its a hard drive issue too , when i first loaded altis (with the settings i played on stratis) its gave me 0-2 fps , after some options tweaking a managed to get 40-60 but when i tried to tour around the island with the spectator camera i got massive fps drops when moving and sometimes when turning fast . I did not try any helo but i imagine it is impossible for me to fly across altis right now. It seems the game is streaming the map or something like that , i use a classic HDD so the data rate is "limited" :) , i will defrag and try again . CPU : amd fx 8120 @ 3,1 Ghz GPU : Gigabyte HD 7950 3GB gddr5 RAM: 8GB Mhz Mobo : Gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3 HDD : 120 GB SATA 1 :eek: I forgot to mention , i am running w7 64bit

    From what i have seen on the video , it seems that killing the guy instantly makes your location known , there are other videos that show the exact same issue . I have seen a video where the player teleported far behind them after killing one team member and the squad turned to search on the opposite direction found and killed him. Also just to note on the teleportation video , there was no direct line of sight with the enemy at the location where he teleported

    Fatigue effects

    They should add something that makes you feel tired , something like colors fading to black and white after a sprint or generally when you get very tired (Game changer since being that much tired and getting a that much black/white/colorless image will make it difficult to recognize enemy/friendly camo ) , or they could add the sound of the heart beat going faster and faster (OF dragon rising style) indicating " hey im getting tired here!"
  12. If you can , add some polygons to the guns , i think they need some refinement , especially colt 1911. Overall this is very good work and very fast :)

The reason i ask this , is because i want to have 2 groups follow the same waypoints but maintain formation since group units always follow the leader , so 2 groups -> 2 leaders -> 2 formations but on one waypoint chain , too bad if it isnt possible :( , i will try copywaypoints and see what i can do , thanks for the replies :) oh ... i forgot to mention that the waypoint chain is very long so it could save some time rather than making an other ...
  14. As the title says is it possible to have 2 units not being in the same group follow the same chain of waypoints ? did a little search but couldnt find anything...
  15. There is a quick solution about it , it happened to me once . You just need to set the desktop resolution to be exactly the same with that of the game , then the game will open in fullscreen with video and sound so you will be able to exit normally and reset your desktop resolution to the original , the game will run fine after that. Hope it helps.
