I had big wishes for arma 3 considering the performance (all the extra money from dayz mod etc.) but NO, and what really destroys my faith for future improvements is the fact that these are ages old bugs/flaws within the engine... This really pains me hard as I love arma series ...

Your TrackIr might be of center which causes your character to lean which in turn results your character being not able to run, try centering track ir .This is the only reason I can think of atm... -

Me and my friend are in tears cause of the player shortage, I've been trying to spread word on some other forums but servers remain empty 90% of the time. Maybe we should try set game event some weekend and make sure there are enough players then invite some youtube video game channel guys play with us(write a nice request to help us with our situation?) we need to try to get some media coverage for tacbf to really get the word out.- 477 replies

overclocked ages ago, no problems major increase in performance at arma, same with three of my friends but maybe we all are just delusional ... WAIT WHAT! so much utter BS in this thread that I have hard time to comprehend it. YES running cpu faster within safe temps and volts will make it faster there nothing else to it, and uuh it degrades faster? what u want to use same cpu +5 years ? buying new chip is safer? yes but which one is cheaper?! + u cant really buy better chip than the market has to offer and if u want to top that u need to oc it. And kudos to all oc'ers here for already pointing out the things needed pointing, And for love of god guys oc the sh*t out of your cpu's / gpu's ! -

Had it long time , haven't regret buying it, I initially bought it for flight sims but have been surprisingly pleased with it in arma 3 infantry gameplay. It took quite a while for me to get fully used to the idea that u might be looking different way than your gun is pointed (specially fast situations (cqb :D)) but once I got I cant go back. I heard good and bad stories about the DIY solutions but haven't tried one myself so dunno about them at least worth looking into. Only two minus I give for track ir is price (I've heard rumors that they are relatively cheap to produce but not solid facts) and that my track clip is always lost when I'm starting to play and I have to meditate on the subject where I left it for 5-10 minutes before I can start gaming xD -

I've been playing on the at http://arma3.swec.se/server/data/17196 it seems to be populated on fridays and saturdays 19-01 (gmt +0) clock (two times in a row now at least ) and there's been really good team play mentality kudos to all guys who have been playing there with me :cool: ps. it makes me sad also that there is so few players, I have trouble playing other mod's lately cause I simply feel that they lack so much lol (I am heavily into pvp^^) +1 There's so much more to arma than just vanilla arma there is all kind of tastes like chocolate and strawberry + many more^^ -

tacbf is by far the best pvp mod for arma that u can get, it's so so sad that there's so few players (come on wasteland & life sucks to compared to this , and eutw cti feels like a child play). But when u get to play tacbf with good 30vs30 teams there is no coming back I tell u so remember you've been warned. The mod encourages team play a lot and from my experience ppl play really team at eu servers and u get the feeling of being part of bigger fighting force and this is the only mod that has done this to me. -
yeah some news about progress would be much appreciated :) Atm it looks really good and promising (it's my favorite plane <3 falcon bms \o/ xD ) on the few screenshots it would be really awesome to see some pics about the cockpit but as always, take it easy and take your time and good luck ^^

to op I have same cpu running @ 4ghz u should definitely overclock it that's the best u can do for your fps ... and u can make sacrifices to ctulhu and hope hi spook's arma devs to actually do something to the problem ;)

hah well that's quite literally outside the box idea ^^ and personally love falcon but few questions, Will ppl see your aircraft(anykind?) in arma that u fly in bms? and how do u check what the hell are u shooting and where are u hitting? ie u don't exactly have altis in bms theaters (at least last that I checked xD) overall I would really like to know more I try to pm u and your utube vid ^^ ps. pretty pls implement bms flightmodel and f16 to arma :cool: lol -

ymmm your right, but well watch the screenshots and make your conclusions ... And nordkinchen talked that stratis would require 1-2 months of work, don't really now how many working hours a day that means ... But as bis having professionals working regular 40h / week (at least I think :D) they imho should have the manpower for this and as watching the screenshots this is imho something they really should do, as mid range textures are being the most lacking part of the graphical looks atm. + this would also have huge game play effect as stealth play would come more viable option -

First respect to nordkinchen for the work and free time hi but on to this. This has been one of the threads I've been really interested in cause this would have been single most epic graphical update that arma3 would have gotten. I'm seriously worried how is that one single modder who does this on freetime is able to surpass BIS result by such an huge margin. BIS should really think of hiring nordkinchen to do this I think hi might be able to do it with in reasonable price. ps. it makes me worried that modders are able to surpass bis results on so many fronts :/ blastcore, this, jsrs sound mod , acre :| lets hope my worries are misplaced -

nice job with the tutorial here's some (hopefully) constructive criticism / things u could add. I'm way too lazy to start making tut and imho arma air assets are really lacking atm, but anyways : U do not use flaps in either takeoff or landing nor u give any explanation what they do (or at least what they should do not sure how well they work in arma) ie. flaps are used to gain more lift with cost of more drag so they reduce your stall speed and with lowered stall speed u can achieve shorter landings and takeoffs. Imho it would be nice mention energy(these are important things to bare in mind while in dogfight!) and talk about your aircraft total energy which is kinetic + potential energy ( E = mhg + ½mv^2 (e =energy, h = heigh, g = Gravitational constant (9.81 m/s^2) ,m= mass, v = velocity)) as we can see from this formula u can change altitude to speed and vica versa while keeping the total energy the same. in turning u could mention that vertical turn (loops) are more energy efficient than horizontal turns (though again not sure how this is with arma), u could also mention that the tighter u turn the more speed will u bleed. Remember to keep in mind that velocity is a vector quantity so it has amount and direction. and in bombing if u wanna talk shit about terms and stuff u could mention that the circle in the hud where your bombs will hit (or atleast should I would have to say I bit disagreed with this in the testing I've did though I didnt give it much time /effort so again cant say this to 100% true) is called continuously calculated impact point aka CCIP (army loves their abbreviations). Stay fast stay alive!! ps. Do a barrel roll!! pss. guys and girls pls correct me if u see stuff that is wrong :) -

Yes I'm starting to get the same feeling :| there's no way they didn't know about this issue it's been reported so many times. Like u knew that you were already pushing the limits of the engine with arma 2 or could I say were bit over already and what do u decide to do, add more stuff on top of it without making core changes on the engine (I hope I'm wrong here, and there are some major stuff on the way). Don't get me wrong I do love what bis and what they are doing but it sucks to see those classics problems persisting title after title, and why push the release out if u ain't ready for it u get only bad reputation with moves like that :| -

It's way beyond my understanding why they made new arma title with the same engine or without major performance fixes on it. They should have started with the fixes and if not possible forget the whole thing or change the engine totally, ppl have been telling them from arma 1 that your engine is awful atm and needs major fixes but we seen only small tweaks no major updates on the engine ... but maybe they know there ain't no real alternatives for arma so why bother :| The content is atm scarce but the community will fix this (damn your starting to hear this wayyyy too often it shoulden't be community's job to produce basic stuff they should be producing just extra) but the community cant fix the engine problems, so maybe I'll just have to wait year or two to community add stuff and pc's performance to go up enough to run this properly -

Haha, op man u trip dreaming :D arma with f16 near to falcon bms(I fly it too)in FM and avionics man I would love that too but that aside I think the biggest short coming of current air assets is the weapon targeting systems aka tab lock issue and stuff, we really need more realistic behavior for bombing, mavericks, radar,targeting pod etc. even properly working huds (CCIP,CCRP, dogfight mode, nav etc ... ) but yeah it's shit ton of work for someone lol :D And I have to say this to other bms pilots: It always makes me smile when ppl claim arma to be a hard game to learn xD And for those who are saying arma is sim I can only say imho: There are way too many things missing to arma be called a sim... check the air assets they are way arcade no where near sim level(they ain't even trying!), come on even bullet's aren't affected by the wind! spamming fak's to keep u alive etc... there is simply too much arcade stuff in arma to be called a sim maybe realism oriented tactical sandbox shooter (lol xD) . but yeah this is way of topic ,maybe an other thread but I just had to say this lol

this x100. Arma's radar seems more like gods all seeing eye atm than a radar ... I get nice red dot from a ifrit in a dense forest on which I can immediately lock and fire man the radar technology has improved in 20 years ...not to sound like douche but sometimes I get the feeling that the futuristic approach is taken to avoid the need to simulate how thing really work ... But anyways BIS still loving your game and the great job u do keep it up :cool:
