  1. Great, thanks for sharing.:)
  2. Thanks for this, its a learning curve to be enjoyed..;) Thanks for sharing.:)
  3. While I believe that may be true, the decision to go with Steam was a financial one I think, which to be honest, may have kept the series alive. So whilst agreeing with some of what you say, I think its probably a good move for BIS. ________________________ I never used Steam until A3, but since I loaded it, seems o.k. I would of course had preferred not to have it, but needs must. A3 just isn’t as good as A2 for realistic game-play, that’s the only reason I wouldn’t play A3 more. There will be as many mod/addons for A3 as A2 a year or two down the road. I know that's not the point and I understand some mod/addon makers view's, but BI is a business and they need to survive and make themselves even more successful, so I also understand their position too..
  4. O.k. thanks, are many more of the buildings going to be opened later, or have I missed something.:)
  5. I always disable v-sync, any tearing problems (don’t really get much) and I use msi afterburner to adjust fps level. Suppose you could use that, disable v-sync in-game and use msi set to 60fps should allow fps movement upwards without tearing, maybe. Worth a try, perhaps.

    AI Discussion (dev branch)

We need the best possible AI, but movement also has to be the best possible. At the moment movement is bad, they float and skit around like a stage act from a bad circus.. Haven’t tried the new AI yet, will get around to it soon, hope things are better.
  7. I have been pottering around having a look, not had time to do any new missions or really look properly yet. However, I have not seen any new open buildings yet, any pointers toward some apartments or what have you would be appreciated (location), until I get time for a proper look, not lazy just testing a new AI mod and haven't had time. Thanks.:)
  8. I will sightsee in A3 but play A2. At the moment, A2 is still head and shoulders above A3 for realistic game-play.
  9. I was sitting soo close to the edge of my seat, I just fell off...;)
  10. Another lovely terrain, thanks for sharing it.:)

    Bush's "Strange New Worlds"

Take On Mars A3 style. I have been following this project, when I say following, I mean checking your site occasionally for any updates, for the last, well quite a long time. These worlds have been a project of yours for some time, I think. Now its here and it certainly does not disappoint, its great, just like the mars terrains. I hope you continue these terrains, a series of them would be really good, but anyway, thanks for releasing and sharing them, its very much appreciated.
  12. Great, thank you. Looking brilliant, by the way..
  13. Koplic or Wamako I would think.. That's if its an A3 terrain. (which looking at it again, doesn't look A3 more A2 and there's so many it could be:confused:)
  14. I’d say most players play on 1920x1080p, probably half lets say, maybe more. I play on a 42†monitor at 1920x1080p and it looks lovely. Frame rates for the mission type I play (should always be the case, machine fit for the mission types you want to play) are high, i.e. no more than 120-150 ai (in A3), meeting no more than 30-40ish at one time (fire-fight). With the above ai this plays at +40fps which is more than enough i.e. rarely falls below 40fps (maybe 35fps in instances) and when not engaged running quite a bit higher +50/60fps. So happy gaming on a mid range (now, little older) pc (my A2 pc, see sig). Much of what is said in this thread is totally misleading, always has been, it’s the same on the A2 thread dealing with the same subject. Every machine is different and every player uses their own machine differently, mine are purely gaming pc’s and really only Arma, they play the game at high enough fps, smooth game-play for every mission I play, which are the types of mission I like. If you want to play with large numbers of ai then your machine is going to give you silly ai, because the cpu will be struggling to cope (most any cpu), when I say high I mean in the hundreds 400 above lets say. Playing like that is a pigeon shoot, large battles stupid ai. Always consider how many ai your likely to meet in any mission your playing. For a good gaming experience you’ll always need lower ai levels, well designed missions and away you go.. Don’t believe much of what is written here in this thread, on the whole its very misleading. Lets face it, this post of mine here will be very misleading for many people with different machines, its all down to how you setup for your gaming, pc wise..

    Caribou Frontier

Well having played a couple of short missions on this map, I can say its certainly a great terrain, play with the colours as suggested and it can bring a really frightening look to the whole map, eerie spec ops night missions etc. Could be used for many types of mission including missions out of the ordinary i.e. aliens, zombies and the like, don’t mind aliens not into zombies though. Really first class terrain, I would say its highly recommended..:)
  16. I can see its been a labour of love for you guys that have done this and I am sure the players that play there will love it just as much. Wonderful job, really looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. Regards the menu, looks great, would like to see the SP button the same, but really not too worried about that. It’s the map its all about for me and the great job you have all done working so hard on it. Thanks, will be eagerly awaiting the release.:)

    Altis - Info & Discussion

Its nice to see Altis will be available soon. I have found most terrains are usable to some degree in A3, even A1 terrains, old ace, vte & pmc terrains. As said though, to differing degree's of success. ;) Similar to Rockets Aoraki, are Chimalpopoca or EtahPlateau, both ‘Bushlurker’ terrains..
  18. Really looking forward to this release, thanks for the update.

    Caribou Frontier

Downloading this now.. Thanks for releasing this, I have been looking forward to it, along with many others.:) Edit: Had a quick drive around, its really a great terrain. Love the dirty, rough almost abandoned feel to it. Will make for some atmospheric missions. Thanks again, going back now to have a good look off road.;)

    AI Discussion (dev branch)

The AI are moving around better than before, that's good. However, they are still lacking some basic skills, one of those being a reaction to the sound of localised gunfire i.e. that does not impact on them. Now if they would do what they do in modded Arma 2, it would be better, i.e. they react to localised gunfire sound, whether or not it impacts on them, if they hear it, they don't stand around, instead they find cover, then decide what to do next. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S23VcGPd7f0
  23. If you look back a couple of posts you will find the cave map positions. That one in the vid is the largest cave, little vid here.:)
